Man did this week go fast or what?! So crazy, the older you get the faster time goes. Remember when you were a kid how long a year seemed and now they seem to go by like water.
Anyways it's Friday MixTape day and Chris is away, so it's a Party here at Off the Radar land!!! Woohoo! Time for some serious dance music action....
This was a good week. I found a ton of great jams to get you moving on the dancefloor and I thought I'd share the wealth. It's always better to share music than horde it for yourself. I actually know some people that won't tell you what their playing/listening to cause they wanna have the latest bad ass new track/band just for themselves. What's the fun in that?? If other people can't enjoy it with you it's just not as much fun, no?
I love to introduce people to new artists/bands and then have them come back a week or months later and say I love that band you introduced me to. Makes it all worthwhile.
Anyways here are some of the best dance tracks I found this week in Blog land as filtered through my discriminating ears.
The Kings of Leon Remix I'm starting off with is sick! So good! I played it at The Attic this past Tuesday and right away people were loving it! Thanks to Chris for sending me this one.
Also got a New Felix Da Housecat track. Electroclash came and went but Felix is still around putting out great dance music! I think he'll be back in Miami/Pawn Shop to Spin in Mid-October after the release of his New Studio Album 'Virgo, Blaktro & The Movie Disco'! Gotta love his album titles!
Also check out Playgroup's cover of Depeche Mode's 'Behind the Wheel'. A nice way to enjoy a classic track by one of my favorite all time bands. Can't say enough about them and how they influenced me. Their lead singer Dave Gahan is also releasing a second solo album October 22nd called 'Hourglass'. If you go to his myspace page you can get a sample of the first Single 'Kingdom'. You can also buy it on Itunes already. It's sounding nice and dark, the way I love it.
Enjoy and have a great week-end!
