Helsinki-based band Regina apply a universal appeal to the Finnish language with their electro-pop and equally sultry melodies. Ilsa & Mikko Pykäri started producing demos in their living room, but once they pulled in Mikko Rissanen on drums and moved on out of Tampere (the "Manchester of Finland") to Helsinki they instantly become a mainstay in the Finnish pop scene. By fusing incredible pop beats with lesser known ethnic musical traditions they've caught my full attention, disregarding the fact that I cant understand the lyrics by any means. Honestly, her voice is so preciously capitivating I just can't take Puutarhatrilogia off repeat! Catch their album released by Brooklyn-based Friendly Fire Recordings out right now here!
