At the beginning of this decade around the time of 'electroclash' I used to be into Canadian electronic artist called Solvent. I remember playing his stuff out quite a bit. Then as happens you kinda drift off and stop listening to certain artists. Maybe he wasn't putting out enough stuff (his last album was 6 years ago), maybe my tastes shifted. Regardless this week in my inbox I got a fresh new track/video from Solvent called "Loss For Words" off his new album Subject to Shift which came out late May on Ghostly International. The track reminds me why I liked him so. Simple catchy electro-pop with a hint of experimentation. Some of my favorite stuff. The video is this great animated piece that I'm also a sucker for.
Here is that new track/video, plus a remix he put together that gives it a little more umpff for the dancefloor. All cleared for posting. Good to have you back Solvent! Don't stay away for so long next time.
