New Navy :: Zimbabwe

Got sent this great new single/video from Sydney, Australia band New Navy called "Zimbabwe". Absolutely sparkling indie pop tune that screams summer fun. If a track like this doesn't get you in a good mood I don't know what will. They are gonna be releasing their debut EP 'Uluwatu' on vinyl soon via Future Classic. Be on the look out for that, in the meantime get to jamming to this. Have a great week-end everyone!

Ladytron :: White Elephants (Video)

Just released this week here is the new Ladytron video for "White Elephants" from their forthcoming album 'Gravity the Seducer' out in September. A more mellow/pretty track from them than I'm used to hearing. Glad for that, change is always a good thing in my book. The video is really lovely as well. Kinda an Eyes Wide Shut theme. Enjoy!

The Band in Heaven

Orlando by way of West Palm Beach The Band in Heaven who I recently caught opening up for The Crocodiles at The Vagabond (were I spin weekends) contacted us about their latest release 'Seven Minutes in Heaven'. Literally 2 tracks which clock in at 7 mins. They are releasing it as a cassette version and digital download. The two tracks couldn't be more different from each other. The first track "Sleazy Dreams" is a hard rocking number that would make Black Rebel Motorcycle Club proud and the second track "If You Only Knew" is a much slower shoegazey affair with some middle eastern flair. Digging them both! They are giving away "If You Only Knew" as a free download that you can check out below and you can hear the other one on their bandcamp page. A great band that is showing tons of potential and should definitely be on your radar. Let's hear it for them rocking Florida bands making a splash on the scene!

We Can't Enjoy Ourselves

Looking for some new jangly rock to swing to? Then look no further than Brooklyn indie band We Can't Enjoy Ourselves. They sent us their track "Back of My Bible" from their latest album 'One Belongs Here More Than You' and I'm digging it! Definitely has a brit-pop feel to it which I really like. Here is that track, plus album opener "Miss Maris Morris". If you like what you hear you can pick up the whole thing as a 'name your own price' option via their bandcamp. Get to it, maybe they can't enjoy themselves, but we sure can.

Death in Vegas

Been a while since we last heard of Richard Fearless project Death in Vegas, 2004 to be exact. Although he hasn't exactly been sitting on his ass. Since then he's worked on his NYC guitar band Black Acid, produced albums for Von Haze, Dark Horses as well as remixed artists such as The Horrors, The Kills, A Place to Bury Strangers and Hurts. Well the wait for new Death in Vegas material is over as he's announced new single "Your Loft" featuring Katie Stelmanis from Domino band Austra on vocals. It's the first track from upcoming album 'Trans Love Energies' scheduled for release Sept. 26 on Drone Records with the single being released the week prior on Sept 19th. A dark loopy electronic tune that should appeal to fans of Death in Vegas. You can stream/check out the track via his soundcloud below.

Punks Jump Up :: Chimes Pt 1 Video / Remix

London duo Punks Jump Up that we posted an excellent DJ Mix of theirs last year here are back with a great new dance single called "Chimes Pt 1". They are calling it an EP, but really it's just a maxi single of old with one track and a bunch of remixes for it. Don't know why bands seem to do that a lot lately. Is calling something a maxi single a bad thing? Has to be a marketing thing. Anyways the track is pretty bumbing and will surely get your butts moving on the dancefloor. The remix of the track from Younger than Me is being offered as a free download and it is even harder hitting than the original. Grab that and check out the video below. You can sample the rest of the EP, errr Maxi Single on their soundcloud here.

Dudes

San Diego band Dudes recently contacted with news of their first official EP Nacissists Anonymous and it is some fine chillwave / downtempo electronic music. Digging the whole thing! Best part is they are giving the whole 7 track EP away via their bandcamp or soundcloud page. Below are a couple of my fav tracks, EP opener "Somethin' 2 Say" and "Who's That Lady? (We're All Anonymous)". Some fine work Dudes! Keep it up.

Bjork :: Crystalline Video / Single

New Bjork track/video for "Crystalline" from her upcoming album Biophilia scheduled for release Sept 27th seems to be a return to her dance roots and a beaut! To tell the truth I haven't much dug the last couple Bjork albums which have been much slower and minimal that her early work with Sugarcubes and her first solo albums 'Debut' / 'Post' that were much more on the dance tip and more my cup of tea. If this first track is any indication she may be making a return to that form. Fingers crossed! Check it....

Metronomy :: The Bay Video + Clock Opera Remix

English electronic artists Metronomy, who we've posted several times before, most recently here, and who's latest album "The English Riviera" has been nominated for 2011 Barclaycard Mercury Prize 'Album of the Year', have had their track "The Bay" remixed by London's Clock Opera with great success. Clock Opera have dissected the track and reassembled it into a brilliant upbeat dance piece. Here is that remix, plus a sexy video Metronomy recently released for the original.

Humans :: Avec Mes Mecs Video

So the Vancouver electro duo Humans that I recently posted below just sent us this brand new video for their latest single that is so great I had to post! Couldn't have imagined a more appropriate video for this track! Enjoy.

Humans

Just ran across this great dance single from Humans, an indie electro duo out of Vancouver, BC. The track titled "Avec Mes Mecs" is a pulsating, electrifying and energetic party-starter, which, by no coincidence, also happens to be the subject matter as well as the inspiration. Its rather profound refrain sums it up quite nicely, 'Who knew that all we had to do was party?'

The One AM Radio

LA trio The One AM Radio recently contacted us with news of their latest album 'Heaven is Attached By a Slender Thread'. They sent along first single "Sunlight" for posting and it is one lovely down-tempo electro-pop tune. Real pretty track that I can hear over and over. In addition to the track they made a pretty video for it. They are gonna be on tour in August supporting one of our faves DNTEL (aka) Jimmy Tamborello (aka) one half of Postal Service. Now that is gonna be one great tour you guys are gonna wanna check out. Check out the goods below...

Fonda

LA husband/wife duo Fonda have been around since the late 90's, but took a little hiatus (8 yrs) to you know work on hit shows (Glee), write screenplays (Gnomeo and Juliet) and hey have a kid. Well they are back with a new 5 track EP called 'Better Days' that they sent our way and it is some beautiful shoegazey loveliness. Digging the entire thing. They are giving away the title track "Better Days" which is definitely one of the most rocking tunes on the EP. Check that out below and if you like what you hear you can sample/buy the rest of it via their bandcamp for the non bank breaking price of $5. Definitely worth checking out.

Chrome Sparks

A friend of mine Bonnie Beats recently recommended an artist on Facebook by the name of Chrome Sparks (aka) Jeremy Alvin. Seems he's a 20 yr old college student from Ann Arbor. For such a young age he's got tons of talent and is well on his way. His latest EP titled 'My <3' is one pretty dreamwave record. He is giving away the EP via his bandcamp or individual tracks via his soundcloud. Here are a couple of my favorites "All There Is" ft Steffaloo and "Show You My Way" to get you started, but I suspect once you listen to these you will probably wanna grab the whole thing and why not, won't cost you a thing and it'll provide hours of auditory bliss.

M83 :: Midnight City

Just got back from Chicago where I attended Pitchfork Music Festival over the weekend! Love that city! Had a blast and I saw some amazing acts that really got me back into the whole dreamy shoegazey thing, like Wild Nothing and Twin Sister.

So, upon my return, I was excited to see that the masters of shoegaze M83 have recently released a new single! The track, titled "Midnight City" is off their upcoming LP Hurry Up, We're Dreaming and, from its spacey rock meets electro-pop stylings to the sax solo that chimes in at the end, it is absolutely fantastic! As it's title suggests, this is the perfect track to roll down those windows, crank your car stereo all the way up and get you in the mood for a night out on these big city hot summer nights. Stream the track here, then click here to download it for free!

Foster the People :: Helena Beat Video

New Foster the People video for their album 'Torches' opening track "Helena Beat" is set in a post apocalyptic world were kids run the show. Reminds me of that episode of the original 60's Star Trek TV show were kids ruled the planet and they'd die by the time they reached puberty. Seems these kids figured out how to extend their youth a bit. Fountain of Youth! Grab the MP3 to this track plus their amazing Summer 2011 anthem "Pumped Up Kicks" in an earlier post Erika did for them here.

33 HZ :: Under The Sun

33 HZ are a NYC duo that merge the lines between disco and soul. That is particularly evident in their latest single "Under the Sun". Nice chill down-tempo goodness. They managed to enlist the help of the one and only Prins Thomas to do a remix of the track who totally changed it up into more of his trademark nu-disco sound with a jazzy piano twist at the end. You can grab both those tracks via the soundclouds below as free downloads. Perfect start to your weekend. Be on the lookout for a new full length album from 33 HZ in the fall.

Christian Strobe

Electro-pop/dreamwave lovers rejoice! We got a new artist to enjoy by the name of Christian Strobe who hails from Germany. His track "Midnight Call" was sent our way and it is electro-pop gold! Great track that will definitely be making it into my DJ sets. Best part is they are offering the radio edit of the track as a free download via their soundcloud below. Score one for us! He's got more remixes of the track by the likes of Keenhouse, Codebreaker and more that you can purchase on his label's site here.

Black Light Dinner Party

Black Light Dinner Party is a group of four anonymous producers from the US. Their reps sent along their second single "Small Boxes" which is a great tune, but the one that really caught my attention was first single "Older Together" that was released a few months ago. What a gorgeous tune with an amazingly beautiful melody. Check out both tracks below via their soundclouds and available as free downloads. I'd grab those pronto! In addition to the soundclouds here's their video for "Older Together". Enjoy and keep up the good work BLDP, you'll definitely be on our Radar from here on out.

The Young Professionals :: D.I.S.C.O.

Israeli duo The Young Professionals (aka TYP) recently contacted us with news of their debut single/video "D.I.S.C.O." which samples heavily from Ottawan's 1980 disco anthem "D.I.S.C.O." that you can check out here. They managed to give the track a modern feeling facelift and turn it into a nu-disco dance jam that should introduce it to a whole new generation of club kids. You can check out/download the track for free via their soundcloud player below, plus their super colorful video for it. Be sure to check out a couple more original tracks on their Facebook page. "Deserve" in particular is a gorgeous track! Can't wait to hear more from them.

Clancy :: Panther EP

London artist Clancy recently contacted us with news of his latest EP Panther a 5 track EP with 3 original tracks + 2 remixes by Beaumont & StardonE just released this week. Loving them all! Some great 80's inspired new wave tunes which if you check OTR regularly you know how much we love. He's got the whole EP on his soundcloud/below for you to stream in it's entirety. If you like what you hear you can purchase them on iTunes. Recommended!

The Strokes :: Taken for a Fool Video

New Strokes video for "Taken for a Fool" one of my favorite tracks from their latest album 'Angles'. Been playing this one out quite a bit lately, glad they chose it as their next single. In my line of work I can totally relate to the lyrics 'Monday, Tuesday is my weekend'. Enjoy!

The Drums :: Money

New York band The Drums have just released this new track "Money" from their upcoming 12-track album Portamento which will be out September 12. Pretty solid indie-pop track, should be a good album if the rest follows suit.

Future Islands :: Before The Bridge Video

Last Wednesday Pitchfork premiered the great new music video for Baltimore post-wave band Future Islands' track "Before The Bridge". Loving this track and its strong 80's glam rock vibe. Not sure what it is, but something about this song and video combo is strangely pleasant and comforting.

Future Islands - Before the Bridge

The Horrors :: Still Life Video

The new Horrors album 'Skying' being released this month has been leaked online. Been listening to it non-stop the last few days. Great record! They managed to re-invent themselves once again. This time into more of a post-punk style that I'm really digging. Here's their video for first single "Still Life". Delish... now go get it!

Cru the Dynamic

Brooklyn producer/drummer Cru the Dynamic (aka Steve Bryant) recently sent us his latest track "Lifeline" feat Little Star Dweller. A band he drums for in addition to Dujeous and Michna (Ghostly Intl) who I know and has South Florida ties. Secret Frequency Crew anyone? Anyways "Lifeline" is a great chill down-tempo electronic tune that will ease away that stress. Try her on for size.

NewYork AC

LA visual effects artist NewYork AC who dabbles in music as a hobby recently sent us his latest remix for Digitalism's track "2 Hearts". Think he did a fine job adding some nice dance floor punch and cool vocal effects to the already excellent original. While I was on his soundcloud I found another cool remix for Futurecop's "Starworshipper" as well. Listen/download the mp3's below. Keep on dabbling NYAC!

Active Child

As part of Adult Swim's Free Summer Singles Program that I wrote about recently here it's time for LA artist Active Child's contribution "Hanging On". A beautiful soaring indie pop tune that I can't get enough of. It will be featured on his upcoming debut album 'You Are All I See' scheduled for release August 23rd. This is the second single he's released so far from his debut album. The first being "Playing House" feat How to Dress Well that is available for purchase on iTunes. You can stream the track via his soundcloud below. All in all great stuff I've been hearing from this up and comer. Be on the lookout for the album.

Christian TV :: Girl I Used to Know

Rewards

Rewards is a project from Aaron Pfenning co-founder of Chairlift. Seems he has departed from Chairlift and is now focusing on Rewards, a moniker he's used since 2003. His new release is gonna be the single "Equal Dreams" which will be released on DFA Records on July 25th. It features guest vocals by Solange Knowles and guitar work by Blood Orange aka Lightspeed Champion on the b-side "Asleep with the Lights On". "Equal Dreams" is a nu-disco sounding track that fits well into the DFA soundscape. The b-side is pretty sweet as well. A bit more on the electro-pop side. You can stream the tracks directly on DFA's site here.

In addition to the single he did a DFA DJ Mix for their series DFA Radio Mixes. Number 17 in the series. Seems I have some catching up to do. You can listen to/download the mix via the widget below. Good stuff. Enjoy!

Class Actress :: New Track

So excited to hear that Class Actress is releasing a full length album in October. Her EP 'Journal Of Ardency' was one of my favorite records put out last year. Got to catch her a few weeks ago opening up for Hooray For Earth and Architecture In Helsinki and really enjoyed hearing all of her new material. It's looking like her full length debut is going to be a synth heavy, pop delight. Her voice is effortlessly beautiful. Thanks Class Actress for this little snack to tide us over till "Rapprocher" hits stores. Check out "Keep You" below.

Body Wash :: Merdered EP

In the mood for some excellent new experimental psychedelic indie surf rock? Well you are in the right place! Another Off The Radar brand new artist debut, Chicago based musician Body Wash recently released his debut Merdered EP. Raw, gritty, honest and quite brilliant, the Merdered EP is an amazingly solid first album, filled with layers of lo-fi goodness, fuzzy vocals and super catchy acoustic riffs, with that unmistakeably garage sound. The album in its entirety is available on his bandcamp as a name-your-price download, so you can pick it up for free, but as always we like to suggest you support the artists and send a few bucks their way for their efforts. Body Wash is definitely gonna be an artist to watch for in the future, and I have a strong suspicion that once this EP catches, its gonna spread like wild fire across the blog community. Enjoy these few tracks and video here, then head on over and check out/pick up the rest of the album.
