If you were like me, you spent a lot of time in 2005 rocking out to Diamond Knights. What an awesome LP that was! Sadly the band hasn't released anything since but that doesn't mean that lead singer Morgan Phalen (second from right in above photo) hasn't kept himself busy. Not only has he collaborated with Phenomenal Handclap Band but he was also featured on two tracks off the most recent Justice record.
I recently saw that he posted on his Facebook that he had a soundcloud up under the name Phalen and Wills. After checking it out I found two delightful short but sweet tracks. I hope this isn't all we hear from them. "The Off His Rocker Office Rocker" is a quirky acoustic little song (think Brian Wilson) while "Elijah" is a more experimental rock track with a heavy hitting guitar and a more distorted vocal from Phalen. I like both directions and the diversity. Check them out!
Theater of Delays is back with another excellent remix this time for the classic Air track "Sexy Boy". One of the best Air remixes I've ever heard. Keep it up brother! Stream/download that sucker via his soundcloud below.
I was super excited to see that Wild Nothing, who's 2010 LP Gemini and EP Golden Haze have provided such a large portion of my staple audio enjoyment over the past year or so, are putting out a new single! Furthermore, I was even more excited when hearing that Twin Sister's Andrea Estella does guest vocals on said single! Saw them both at Pitchfork Music Fest last Summer, so hearing that gave me some major nostalgia vibes. The single, titled "Nowhere" is set for official release on February 21, but you can pick up the amazing track below right now for free! Also, for all you fellow Wild Nothing fans, more good news is that they have a new LP in the works that they intend to release sometime this year. So stay tuned!

Avan Lava is a project from NYC ft lead singer TC (Tom Hennes) and producers/musicians Le Chev (Narcisse, Fischerspooner) and Ian Pai (Blue Man Group, Fischerspooner). They sent along their upcoming EP Flex Fantasy scheduled for release February the 21st and I am mightily impressed! A great mixture of soul and nu-disco that is pretty irrisistable and will surely get many booties shaking it on the dance floor. The first single from the EP is "It's Never Over" that you can check out below as well as a little video clip for it. If this one doesn't get you pumped for some weekend dancing, I'm not sure what will. Best part is it's a freebie! Grab that sucker!

Got sent this super pretty 2:39 min indie track "Old Boys" by Toronto band Bishop Morocco from their forthcoming EP of the same name scheduled for release March 13th. Absolutely lovely tune that I can hear over and over again. Can't wait to hear the rest of that EP. The good news for us is they are offering "Old Boys" as a free download via their site in exchange for your email. Not a bad deal right. Check out the stream of the track below and if you like what you hear you know were you can grab that gem.
Miike Snow has released another track from the upcoming album Happy To You, due out March 27th. The track titled "Black Tin Box" is a big name collaboration with fellow Swedish songstress Lykke Li, so it's good times two! Check it out below. Figured that these two would get together eventually!
Our friends over at Low Life Inc are at it again, sending us another gem. This time it's six piece Portland, OR band Adventure Galley. Their track "Weekend Lovers" is mighty impressive. Amazing dark, pop dance track. I get a little Arcade Fire, Joy Division feel to it, but with a synth rock dance vibe that's hard to resist. Love the atmospheric intro. Check it out below and if you like what you hear it's free for the taking. Their debut album 'Anywhere it's Wild' is scheduled for release soon and is produced by Dave Trumfio of Jesus Mary Chain / Built to Spill / Wilco fame.

Isidore is a collaboration between Jeffrey Cain late of Remy Zero and Church frontman Steve Kilbey. I'm a huge Church fan so as soon as I saw his name I was instantly curious and right away liked what I heard. Their new album 'Life Somewhere Else' is scheduled for release Valentine's Day February 14th, 2012. Now that would make a great Valentine's gift don't you think? They are offering the track "Reappearance" from the album as a free download and it's pretty great. Like a classic sounding Church tune. Check it out below and be on the lookout for that release in a few weeks. I for one can't wait!

Austin, Texas' Altered Faze is the one man project of Mexican/American artist Car Gonzalez. He sent along his latest album 'Sunsets and Hearts' for review and I'm digging it! Real chill dreamy downtempo electronic goodness that he is offering as a free download via his bandcamp. Here's a couple of my favorite tracks "Replica" and "Memories of An Apparition" to get you acquainted. If you dig these I'd grab the rest of that, pretty stuff and won't cost you a dime.

Ray just posted the track a few days ago here, but wanted to share the great new video for Labyrinth Ear just released for "Humble Bones". Nothing especially groundbreaking, but an entrancing backdrop for a fantastic song none the less. Crank up the volume, click full screen and enjoy.
Got sent these two lovely indie pop tunes "Just for Fun" and b-side "I'll Never Win" by Swedish artist Andreas Jonsson new solo project Alpaca Sports. Digging them both, particularly "Just for Fun". Beat Culture is a super young artist that has been making some waves early in the year with his ambient electronic sounds with hip-hop undertones. When I say making waves, I mean it both figuratively and literally, as can be heard in his super chill track "Before You Go". Pretty much all the music on his second full length album Tokyo Dreamer, released just yesterday for free download on his Bandcamp follows suite, and it is very much worth picking up! Check out a few tracks as well as a video from the album below.
LA indie pop band Saint Motel that we've posted about a couple of times before, most recently here are getting ready for a Spring Tour starting in Feb. They are also giving away the stems for "At Least I Have Nothing", plus their hit "Puzzle Pieces" for remixes to have a go at it which you can get here. I'm sure there's a few of you out there that can do some damage with those. Enjoy!

Another pretty remix sent our way is this latest remix Oli Chang who is 1/3 of the band High Highs did for up and coming Tokyo band Trippple Nippples track "Golden Road". Electronic dreamwave loveliness! Seems he has been friends with them for quite some time so he was pretty psyched to do this for them and he did not disappoint. Check it out below, if you like what you hear it's another freebie! It's a good Monday.

Vancouver electronic artist Teen Daze that we've posted about before released a free disco dance gem New Year's Eve called "Let's Groove". It's a rework of Earth, Wind and Fire's classic track of the same name. Seems it went straight to number one on Hype Machine when it was released. Since it's Friday thought I'd post this baby up and hopefully get you guys in a dancing mood for the weekend, I know it got me going. Enjoy and see you all next week!

London electronic duo Labyrinth Ear that we've posted before have a new 4 track EP entitled 'Apparitions' scheduled for release February 7th. Their reps sent along the EP for review and I'm digging it! Their sound has been described as 'icy disco, but with a warm beating heart', I'd say that's a pretty good description. Check out "Humble Bones" that they have streaming below and be on the lookout for the rest of that when it's released. Good stuff!

If you grew up in Miami or NYC in the 80's this 1987 Remix Eliot did of "Prisoner of Love" by Jessica 6 ft Antony Hegarty will bring back tons of freestyle memories. Digging this track/video for new artist 'Sylver Toungue'. The track "Hook You Up" has an atmospheric quality, like the soundtrack for a first kiss or something. There's not much info on her except she has worked with producer James Rutledge (remixed Fever Ray). Anyways check out the video/soundcloud below for a free download.

Just a couple months ago I was asking someone what ever happened to The Shins, they kinda just disappeared off the map since 2007's Wincing the Night Away. So I was quite pleased to see they are back, and that they have just recently put out a new track, "Simple Song", from an upcoming new album titled Port of Morrow! They haven't really changed the formula much, the track sounds pretty much exactly like the The Shins we know and love from before. Why fix what isn't broken I guess. The album comes out March 20th (my birthday!) and I'm sure we will be hearing a few more tracks leaked before then.
What else is good news is that a new album coming out means they will be touring, which means they will most likely be headlining at most of your summer music festivals! Already see them on the released Coachella line-up! Lets hope that trend continues!
Miami band Rebel that we've posted about before have a great new video for their track "Warning Signs" that brings back memories of Karate Kid and is possibly their best song yet! Loving it! Check it out below...

NYC band Murder Mystery that we've posted about a couple of times before most recently here are about to release a 6 track EP entitled 'Problems' on January 16th. They sent it along and like everything I've heard from them it's grade A indie pop goodness. They let me choose a track to post for you guys as a free download and I think I'm gonna go with EP opener "Change My Mind" which is one of the catchiest tracks on there, but they're all really good. You can stream the entire EP via their bandcamp page and below is their video for "I Am (If You Are)" which is track #5 on the EP. You can also grab the title track from the EP "Problems" on that previous post I linked above as well. Enjoy!
