Atoms for Peace :: Ingenue (Video)

Digging the new Atoms for Peace record 'Amok' which was just released this week and is kinda a supergroup collaboration between Thom Yorke, Flea and others. It should definitely appeal to fans of Radiohead and I would dare to say I like it better than Radiohead's last album 'King of Limbs', which coincidentally featured a dancing Thom Yorke in the video for "Lotus Flower".

In the new Atoms video released today for "Ingenue" Thom's back on the dance floor, except this time he's got a dance partner. Check it...

Penguin Prison :: Gold Fields : Dark Again (Remix)

I recently came across this great Penguin Prison remix of "Dark Again" by Australian indie rock group, Gold Fields. The remix was released earlier this month in anticipation of Gold Field's debut album 'Black Sun', out today. It is very nice to hear some great dark nu disco in the midst of a heavy dosage of deep house going around. The awesome lyrics of "Dark Again" meshed with captivating synths and a hefty amount of rolling bass will leave you surprisingly content.

Grab the remix for free via Penguin Prison's SoundCloud link below, also you can listen to more Gold Fields tracks through their SoundCloud.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs :: Sacrilege

2013 is shaping up to be an amazing year for new album releases. One of the biggest acts that has many people excited is the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. They are getting ready to release their follow up to their amazing 2009 album 'It's Blitz' on April 16th which they are naming 'Mosquito'. The first taste of the new album is first single "Sacrilege" which they just premiered today on BBC Radio 1. Loving the tune which features a 20 person gospel choir and Karen O's distinctive vocal stylings. Cannot wait to hear the rest of that album.

For now dig your teeth into fiery first single "Sacrilege".

French Horn Rebellion :: Girls ft JD Samson & Fat Tony

Got a bazillion emails to go through, but in the meantime wanted to leave you with a couple tunes to help get you through the terrible Mondays.

First off wanted to share this great new tune our friends from French Horn Rebellion sent us called "Girls". Just like everything they send our way, this one's another party anthem that will surely get you shaking it on the dance floor. This one features guest vocals by JD Samson of Le Tigre fame and a little rap solo by Fat Tony. Of course it's also about one of our favorite subjects. Can't go wrong with that.

Check out the tune below and if you like what you hear they are giving away the track in exchange for your email. Sounds like a deal to me.

Lemaitre :: Continuum (Video)

Just ran across this fantastic new electro-dance track/video "Continuum" from Norwegian duo Lemaitre. This ones a real banger! Lemaitre are making their way onto the scene with a their upcoming Relativity 3 EP coming in early March. So crank up the volume and check out the track/vid below!

Suede :: It Starts and Ends With You (Video)

Another legendary band making a comeback in 2013 is UK's Suede. We posted about their new track "Barriers" that they gave away as a free download back in January here. Well they recently released the new video for their new single "It Starts and Ends With You" which shows them doing what they do best, rocking the fuck out. It's their first new single in 10 years and definitely has that classic sound that I remember from them back in the 90's. I even hear a little car reference like in their classic albums with the lyrics "like a hairline crack in a radiator, leaking life".

Check out the video below and be on the lookout for new album 'Bloodsports' coming soon in March! Hopefully a world tour will ensue. Somewhere in or around Florida would be amazing, but I will settle for whatever I can get in the states.

Primal Scream :: 2013 (Video)

2013 is shaping up to be an amazing year in music. Another legendary act making a comeback this year is Primal Scream. They are getting ready to release double album 'More Light' on May the 6th. The first taste of the new record is first single "2013" which they have just released a video for and which they will be releasing next week on Feb the 25th. The track features some sweet sax action and My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields on guitar. It is also possibly the poppiest track I've ever heard from Primal Scream and hence why I am absolutely loving it!

Check out the video for the track below and be on the lookout for that album come May.

Kodiak Fur :: Lips (Video)

One of my favorite new Miami bands Kodiak Fur that we posted about previously here, just released an excellent new video for their track "Lips". Think they did a fabulous job with the sexy escort that sucks your soul from you, haha. Kodiak played last Saturday at our new weekly party His & Hers at The Garret and they blew me away. Can only see these guys getting better and better. Can't wait to hear more new material from them. For now check out the "Lips" soundcloud/video below.

You can stream/dl the rest of their amazing Debut EP here for free.

Phoenix :: Entertainment

The four boys from France are back at it again with the release of new single "Entertainment". The song is typical Phoenix and will surely be re-visited many times this year on your radios/MP3 players. If this is a sign as to what's next - I can't wait!

'Bankrupt!' is the title of their forthcoming album, which is set to drop April 23rd, 2013. The band is also starting their world tour in Vancouver next month as well as headlining the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Not too shabby of a return.

Check out "Entertainment" as well as the new album tracklisting below.

01. “Entertainment”
02. “The Real Thing”
03. “S.O.S. In Bel Air”
04. “Trying To Be Cool”

Unknown Mortal Orchestra :: So Good at Being in Trouble

I have sung the praises of Unknown Mortal Orchestra in the past and their follow up to their 2011 self titled LP "II" released this month has got me blabbing again. The whole record start to finish is fantastic. Their single "So Good At Being In Trouble" has become my understated anthem with about fifteen consecutive listens. Yeah, I'm that guy. Their music has a timeless sound that definitely bares influences from the Beatles as well as more psychedelic bands like The Pretty Things, more soothing then sleepy tea. I get lost in albums like this for months. Check the video/soundcloud for the first single below.

Clear Plastic Masks

Clear Plastic Masks are pissing off my neighbors. I am listening to the few songs I can find online so loud they can only assume I'm a thirteen year old boy who hates their parents. These guys are Nashville based, but let's face it, they're musicians so they are pretty much smelly homeless people, but who cares. They are restoring my faith in rock and roll. Also their self titled LP is only available at shows which is genius. Pretty much says if you want me, come and find me so I can show you I am that good. Their songs are like snake charmers sucking you in with soulful lyrics and explosive musical arrangements. The drums, the guitars, the organs. Try not to like this band, I dare you.

Check out some tunes/videos below and check out their tour dates here

Knocking Ghost :: Distractions

Seems it's a London kinda day today on OTR. Another track that caught my attention in our inbox today is "Distractions" by London band Knocking Ghost. A great subdued synth track. The video really sealed the deal in me digging the track. That's why videos are so important these days, especially for up and coming bands trying to get noticed. Kinda puts a face to the music.

Check out the goods below and if you like what you hear the entire five track Distractions EP (which is all excellent) is available as a free download on their soundcloud.

Elephant :: Skyscraper

Got sent this lovely track "Skyscraper" by London duo Elephant. Beautiful track with gorgeous female vocals that reminds me of the days of Nico and the Velvet Underground. Fans of theirs will find themselves falling in love with Elephant as well. 3 1/2 mins of pure pop bliss. Check it...

The Postal Service :: Re-Release 'Give Up' + Tour in 2013

It has been a decade since Postal Service came out with 'Give Up', an album that signified the start of the hipster trend and gave us an anthem to a generation with the track "Such Great Heights". To celebrate the occasion Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello along with Jenny Lewis (who was part of the original 2003 album/tour) are getting ready to do some live shows in 2013, including some major festival appearances at Coachella and Primavera.

In addition to the live shows they are also gonna be re-releasing their classic album as a Deluxe 10 Year Annv Edition on April 9th with b-sides and bonus tracks, including new tracks "Turn Around" and "A Tattered Line of String" that you can check out below. For more info check out their label's site at Sub Pop here.

Hopefully all the touring will inspire them to finally get to work on that elusive second album. We'll keep our fingers crossed!

Chvrches :: Recover

Chvrches seems to be the next "it" export from Glasgow, Scotland. Their feature single, "Recover" hit the internet by storm. The track is nice and lead singer's, Lauren Mayberry, voice accompanies the track perfectly. The trio is bound for San Francisco on March 10th, and have a couple of tour dates in California and New York. Check out their soundcloud for the tune.

Du Tonc :: Darkness

Du Tonc is a new project between Mighty Mouse and founding Van She member Matt. The first track they've released/sent our way is the lovely disco tinged "Darkness". An amazing track that I could tell within 5 seconds of pressing play that I was gonna love. Can't wait to play this baby out in my DJ sets and hear more from them. Bound to be great, I'm sure.

Press play on their soundcloud below and let the addiction begin. Your new music obsession.

Little Daylight :: Overdose

Not sure where the trio known as Little Daylight are from, but apparently after putting out a bunch of cool remixes they released their own original track "Overdose" recently and then quickly managed to reach #1 on Hype Machine. Pretty impressive achievement and I can see why. Amazingly catchy indie pop tune. Glad to have them on our Radar.

Check out their soundcloud/video for "Overdose" below. You can hear more of their remixes on their tumblr here. Enjoy!

My Bloody Valentine :: MBV

The big news this past weekend was shoegaze legends My Bloody Valentine releasing a new album 'MBV'. It's their first new album since 1991's classic 'Loveless'. They are self releasing the album via their site here in a bunch of different formats. I am currently absorbing the album myself, but I feel if you dug 'Loveless' there is no reason you won't love this new one as well. As for me my favorite track so far is the more melodic "New You", no surprise there.

Check out that tune below. You can sample the rest of the tracks on their official youtube page here. Apparently they will be touring as well, so that's great news for us all. Enjoy!

Depeche Mode :: Heaven (Video)

One of my favorite bands of all time Depeche Mode are getting ready to release new album 'Delta Machine' March the 26th. They just released first single "Heaven" earlier this week and yesterday unveiled the video for the track. It is a ballad that has gotten some mixed reviews from fans, but I for one am digging the soulful track and can't wait to hear the rest of the album that Martin Gore is describing as a cross between 'Violator' and 'Songs of Faith & Devotion'. Psyched!

Check out the video set in a Church and with some gothic imagery below.
