YOUR SOURCE FOR CUTTING EDGE NEW MUSIC

Broken Bells :: Holding On For Life

Really digging the new Broken Bells track "Holding on for Life" from their upcoming album 'After the Disco' scheduled for release January 14th. The track gives me a heavy Bee Gees vibe, especially when lead singer James Mercer (The Shins) hits those falsettos in the chorus. Check out the tune below. They also have a video for the track that you can check out on Entertainment Weekly's site here.

Bonobo :: Live, Thursday Nov. 14th @ Grand Central (Tonight!) - Sold Out

While looking back on the last post that covered Bonobo, we still find that there are not many words that can describe his sensational downtempo British productions. You really have to listen to the music.

Tonight another treat is in store, but only for some very lucky music enthusiasts. They will be the only ones that get to experience the sold out performance that will take place later at downtown Miami nightclub, Grand Central. This show is the meat in this phenomenal fall sandwich of live music in Miami.

Those who are sadly missing out, head to Bonobo's Facebook for some great photos of the North American tour thus far. Below are some versions that you might not have heard already, because that's the next best thing to missing a show! As well as the classic "Eyesdown". Enjoy.

Murat Kilic :: Shooting Star

Going through a unusual amount of music the last week, I came across this magnificent upbeat - raise your spirits kind of tune. In the life of a music spotter, coming across a track like this is one of the better ways to start the week.

Murat Kilic is of Turkish decent, though hails from Sydney, Australia. He is your textbook renaissance man. Maintaining a successful career as a producer and DJ, while traveling the world playing notable nightclubs including Watergate Berlin, The Electric Pickle Miami, The End in London and Burning Man. The Australian does this, and continues to run Reckless Republic, a touring agency, event promoting and record label back in Sydney.

Last month Kilic released "Shooting Stars" on Belin based label Off Recordings. With it's uplifting vocals, and alimentative deep funky disco vibe, "Shooting Stars" becomes more enriching with each listen. Also included is Kilic's podcast for Stil vor Talent, a free download. Hopefully we'll be hearing some new treats from this rising talent soon, though another visit to The Electric Pickle would be just as splendid.

SLAP & TICKLE - Tuesday Nov. 12th @ Bardot :: XXXY live (Tonight!)

There's quite a nice treat in store for Miamians tonight, that is if you're keen in the know of Tuesday's best places to catch gigs that will have you wondering why you have work in the morning.

Tonight, multi-talented London based modern garage, tech-house producer XXXY will grace Slap & Tickle at Bardot with a comprehensive live set of his productions that will surely provide you with enough of a kick-burst of energy to sail you through the rest of your week. Being that XXXY was named the fourth-best DJ in the world in 2012 by Red Bull Music Academy you can be almost positive he'll also trail into a DJ set of some ridiculous caliber, serving up a combo meal of a performance.

Tonight's event is also a FREE SHOW. The only drawback will be that you won't have the slightest idea of what you'll be missing if you're not there. See everyone tonight on the carpet at The Slap.

Antony Toga :: Good Life (Remix)

French producer Antony Toga that we've posted about before here is back with another solid remix. This time for Inner City's classic "Good Life". Once again he did a fabulous job! This remix will work nicely into modern day DJ sets and best part is he is offering the rework as a free download! Can't complain about that... Check out/download that baby below.

Digits :: Say Goodbye

Toronto based artist Digits that we've been covering for some time sent us his new video for his track "Say Goodbye". Really love this track and his hushed way of singing it! The video shows the troubles you face when loved ones become zombies, kinda like in Walking Dead. We know you watch that show. Check those out below...
