Been a long time since we had a new album from The Faint. 2008's 'Fasciinatiion' to be exact. Well the wait is over, today I saw they will be releasing new album 'Doom Abuse' on April 8th. The first taste of the new record is first single "Help in the Head" which they released a video for that you can check out below. Laser pointer paranoia! Seems they will also be doing a tour to coincide with the album release including a show at the Culture Room on May 6th for us South Floridians. Good news all around! Viva la Faint!
YOUR SOURCE FOR CUTTING EDGE NEW MUSIC
The Faint :: Help in the Head
Been a long time since we had a new album from The Faint. 2008's 'Fasciinatiion' to be exact. Well the wait is over, today I saw they will be releasing new album 'Doom Abuse' on April 8th. Drowners :: Luv, Hold Me Down
On a recent trip I had the pleasure of listening to the Drowners' "Luv, Hold Me Down." The post-punk band from New York have an early 90's indie rock feel to them that will make them airplay friendly across many university radio stations.
Check out the track/video below, and if you like what you hear they are offering the tune as a free download.
Reputante :: Deep Set Eyes
The other day I decided to take a coastal trip from San Francisco to Los Angeles. I decided to take the trip on my own to take in the scenery and the listen to the back logged music I had to listen to. One of the bands that stood out was Reputante. Their song "Deep Set Eyes" is a danceable ballad. The New York band states, "Reputante" is a tragic love story with an unreliable narrator." Interesting description.
Kodiak Fur :: Selena
One of my favorite Miami bands Kodiak Fur has released a new single "Selena" and just like everything I've heard from them it is stellar! Smooth grooving jam that they also happen to be giving away as a free download?! Yes sir, best grab that sucker pronto. They will also be releasing their new EP Flowers later this month on February 25th. Cannot wait to check that out. I burned the hell out of their amazing self titled EP.
Eons :: Stay (Premiere)
Off the Radar is happy to premiere the brand new Eons single "Stay". It is the follow-up to Eons first single "Destiny", released August 2013 that we posted here.
Here's the bands description for the new track...
"This new track features deep, shoegaze electronic melodies that blend lush synths with astral yearning. It is an ethereal electro-pop song that relays the universal feeling of a love slipping away."
Check out the tune via their soundcloud below and if you like what you hear they are offering the track as a Free Download for Valentine's Day. Happy love day for us! Enjoy!
Alex Anwandter :: Rebeldes
1. Cómo puedes vivir contigo mismo?
8. Rebeldes
The Chain Gang of 1974 :: Daydream Forever
Digging the new single "You" from LA's The Chain Gang of 1974. So good it got me downloading their new album 'Daydream Forever' that was just released this week. The track reminds me of artists like M83 or Twin Shadow. A big and powerful tune, especially when the chorus kicks in. They also have a track "Sleepwalking" which is darker and gothier that was featured in the recent Grand Theft Auto V game. Considering how much those games sell it must have been a big boost for their career.
Check out those two tunes below and if you are as impressed as I am, I'd look into acquiring the rest of 'Daydream Forever', just as I am about to do right,,,, now.
Strange Talk :: Young Hearts
Really loving the new Strange Talk single sent our way "Young Hearts". Pure indie pop hugeness. Can't wait to hear their album 'Cast Away' being released April 29th. I'm sure it will be a doozy. You can sample a few more tracks from the record on their iTunes page.
