Chromeo :: White Women

Loving the new Chromeo album 'White Women' that was just released. It incorporates a bunch of different styles from pop, smooth rock, funk, disco with an 80's feel to it. I liken them to a modern day Hall & Oates. You can definitely tell they were influenced by bands like that. With this album they seem to have made a concerted effort to create carefully crafted sublime tracks that will stand the test of time. More so than their previous albums, which were good, but more straight up dance floor tracks. Good from beginning to the end, they are definitely hitting their groove with this one. Recommended!

Check out the video for first single "Jealous (I Ain't With It)", plus "Come Alive" ft Toro & Moi and "Over Your Shoulders" from the album, and a couple sweet remixes from long time OTR favorites Grum & The Magician.

James :: La Petite Mort

One of my favorite bands UK legends James are getting ready to release new album 'La Petite Mort' on June 2nd. Heard the first couple tracks/videos from the record "Frozen Britain" + "Moving On" and they sound fabulous! These guys have been rocking it for decades and there appear to be no signs of slowing down. They still got it! Like I told my friend the other day, they never disappoint. Long live James!

Check out these two amazing new animated videos below, then be sure to grab the album when it's released in a few weeks.

Mr Little Jeans :: Good Mistake

About a month ago my friend told me about this cool new artist he heard called Mr Little Jeans. I couldn't find much about her until I saw her video for her single "Good Mistake" last week. Reminded me how amazing she is! Norwegian electro-pop goodness. Seems she is living in LA now so all you folks over on the west coast better catch her live. Her debut album 'Pocketknife' is out now.

Check out that video for "Good Mistake", plus a sweet Yacht remix for the track below.

Michael Jackson :: Love Never Felt So Good

Heard the track "Love Never Felt So Good" from Michael Jackson's upcoming posthumous record 'Xscape' and it is fantastic! Has that 'Off the Wall' early 80's disco sound of his, and for good reason. The track dates back to 1983. It's a track he worked with Paul Anka that was never released. The song has been contemporized and also has a version with Justin Timberlake sharing vocal duties with him (which I'm sure will be featured on the album), but I really like the one with just him singing. Takes me back to his earlier disco sound which is my fave era from him.

Check out both versions below. It will be interesting to see what they come up with the rest of the album. One thing's for sure, it will be huge.
