Lindstrom :: Home Tonight ft Grace Hall

Here at OTR we've been fans of Lindstrom for years, so we were pretty happy when we spotted his new 9 plus min single "Home Tonight" ft Grace Hall earlier today. Another fantastic dance tune from this music mastermind. Seems it will be available for purchase April 6th, but we can start jamming to it right now via his soundcloud below. Check it...

Blur Returns!

It's been twelve years since we had a new album from Blur (their last one was 2003's 'Think Tank'). The other day they announced the release of new album 'The Magic Whip' which is coming April 27th. I for one could not be more excited! They along with fellow Brit-Pop legends Pulp, Suede and Oasis were a big part of my upbringing.

The first taste they've given us from the new record is the lyric video for first single "Go Out". It pretty much reminds me of their classic style, but with some cool new sounds. Check that out below. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album! Welcome back fellas, and don't stay away so long next time!

Doldrums

SubPop contacted us about their recent signing Doldrums. They are releasing his new album The Air Conditioned Nightmare April 7th. Before the release they've put out two singles "Hotfoot" and his latest "My Friend Simjen". Digging them both! He has a dark, experimental vibe that I find interesting. Check those out below, and if you dig'em keep your eye out for that record. It'll be here before you know it.

Crown Company :: The Black Hills

It's been a long time coming, but I finally got my hands on some new music by Miami indie duo Crown Company. I waited a long time to hear the finished product (they are buddies of mine and showed me many demos the last couple of years). They also happen to be perfectionists who won't release anything until "everything is in it's right place". Luckily the wait was totally worth it! The first track they are releasing "The Black Hills" is a moody, delicious indie pop jam. Oscar's vocals sound amazing, and all the instrumentation is on point. It clocks in a very Smiths-like 2 mins and 28 secs.

They are gonna be releasing more new material in the months to come, but for now "Black Hills" will hold us off nicely, especially since we can download it for FREE, then play it on iTunes, in the car, at parties, at work,,,

Boxwood :: Moon Garage

Miami artist Boxwood who is amazing with the art of the loop is getting ready to release a New EP Moon Garage on March the 28th. If you pre-order the EP via his bandcamp he is giving away the first single "Solar Rays" as an instant download, or you can buy it independently for $1. Heard "Solar Rays" and I am digging it! Has a real smooth dreamy feel to it. Got me excited to hear the rest of Moon Garage.

Check out "Solar Rays" below, and see if it sparks your interest as well.

Purse Candy :: Bar Fight (Video)

Loving the Purse Candy album Visions of a Healed Kingdom, particularly the single "Bar Fight". I burned the hell out of that track, so I was pretty excited when I saw they had a video for it today. What a great video for this silky smooth electro-pop jam.

Check that out below, and check out our earlier post on them here.

Marina and the Diamonds :: I'm a Ruin (Video)

Marina's got a new video she released today for "I'm a Ruin" from her upcoming album Froot due in April. I just love everything this woman does. Since the beginning of her career until now. One talented and lovely lady with an amazing voice. This is what good pop music sounds like. Way better than most of the pop crap that's out there.

Happy Accidents :: Sing (Blur Cover) + Mixtape

Happy Accidents sent us their latest, which is a cover they did for Blur's "Sing". Man oh man did they do a phenomenal job! Silky smooth reinterpretation, with lovely male/female harmonizing.

Here's what they had to say about the cover. "Blur has been one of our all time favorites for years. Covering one of their songs has been a long time coming, yet very intimidating. We finally settled on one of their earlier tracks "Sing" -- which most of you know from the "Trainspotting" soundtrack. Its simplicity allowed some creative freedom and we were able to put our own spin on it while still staying true to the overall mood and Britpop spirit." They are offering the track as a free download in exchange for a Facebook like?! Best get in on that.

In addition to the cover they also put together this great mixtape entitled "Songs We Like", featuring contemporaries like Oliver and Chvrches to 80's new wave classics from Heaven 17 and Book of Love. They are keen to point out, "The goal was not necessarily to compile all of the latest danceable hits, but to select a specific vibe and take the listener through a journey." That they did. Tons of amazing tracks (44 total), squeezed into a smooth hour long set. Check that out below. If you dig it, it's free to download as well, and will surely help your work week fly on by.

Happy Monday!
