Electronic Moonpop

If you're a fan of French Pop/loungey electronic pop then you're gonna love Gina & Tony. What's kinda funny is they're from Switzerland. Pretty sure she's singing in French. Maybe they visited, feel in love and moved on over. Anyways I feel in love with Gina & Tony's music upon first listen! Great silky, electronic, loungey pop! Perfect late night fare. Not enough music like this being made anymore, at least not were I'm looking. Kinda reminds me of the early Air 'Moon Safari' days and Classic French Pop.

Check out these two great tracks. If you like these add their myspace page. Be a friend, they only have 251 so far. I'm sure that number will go up as soon as people start finding out about them.

J'aime La Musique Française

I think you get the picture that I have an on and off again love affair with French pop. Catherine Ferroyer-Blanchard is luring me back. She is a French electro-pop artist that just released her newest single on cassette all over Paris. You read correctly, cassette.

After hunting down a cassette player, seriously, anybody out there still have one (that works?? I guess I can find batteries for my Sony Walkman...) you will be rewarded with some fantastic bouncy, dancy, international pop music. She sings, yells (not as annoying as Yelle), bops, lures you in.

Who cares if you can't understand her?

The cassettes have limited edition remixes of her new single Chanson D'Amour and a couple of other album tracks.

Those are the three artists collaborating on the score for the French film Steak that is being release next week in Europe. Having three of the hottest French producers working on the music for your movie has to be a good sign.

Most of the songs are short. I am posting what so far seems to be the best track. It is nice to hear Sebastian Tellier's voice pop in and out of the fuzzy-electro beats the French have recently perfected (albeit we have been bombarded with a bit too much of it lately...).
