Lush :: Out of Control

Straight out of 90's shoegazer heaven London band Lush have returned with their first new music in 20 years, and it is fabulous! They did not skip a beat. They still sound as amazing as they ever did and it fully takes me back to those 90's days when I saw them play at the original Lollapalooza festivals back in 1992. Boy does time fly.

Check out their video for "Out of Control" below. We can expect to hear a 4 song EP The Blind Spot being released April 22nd. For now this track will hold us up nicely as well as dreams of a full length album as well. Fingers crossed!

Suede :: Night Thoughts

Loving the new Suede album 'Night Thoughts'! Their best in a very long time. As good as anything they produced in the 90's, which is a pretty amazing feat for a band so far into their career and with some classic albums under their belt. Love that the tracks all segue into each other making this an album that you really have to listen to all the way through to fully appreciate.

New Order :: Tutti Frutti (Video) + Remixes + Tour

Psyched to finally be seeing one of my foundation bands New Order performing live this coming March at The Fillmore in Miami Beach. They were the last of my foundation bands that I had never seen play live (Peter Hook alone doesn't count).

To celebrate I wanted to do a little post on these living legends.

Blondfire :: True Confessions (Video)

Ran into this great indie rock video in my feed for LA band Blondfire's track "True Confessions". A great rollicking indie rock jam that reminds me of the mid 2000's and bands like The Sounds. Miss those days! Check out the classic live band video shoot for the track below.

Timecop 1983 :: My First Crush (Video)

One of my favorite tracks from the latest Timecop 1983 album Reflections "My First Crush" ft Trevor Something just got the video treatment. Really glad they picked this one, cause it's such an amazing track! I can hear this track over and over and I pretty much have, haha. It's dripping in 80's synths and nostalgia, while the lyrics and vocals by the amazing Trevor Something take you back to those first crush days. Pure heavenly bliss from the very first beat.

New Weezer :: Do You Wanna Get High? / Thank God for Girls

Grew up a fan of Weezer, so I was pretty psyched when I heard their new single "Do You Wanna Get High?" today. Reminds of those amazing 90's albums I grew up listening to of theirs. Seems they also released another track/video not too long ago called "Thank God for Girls". They say they are not actively working on a new album, “but are open to dinner dates with A&R representatives.” Someone take these boys to dinner!

Grimes :: Art Angels : Flesh Without Blood / Life in the Vivid Dream

Today Grimes released the first video from her upcoming Nov 6th album Art Angels called "Flesh Without Blood/Life in the Vivid Dream". I'm digging it. The first track "Flesh" is definitely more pop than we are used to hearing from her, and "Life" is more mellow. Really wanna check out the whole album to hear the tracks in context.

Editors :: In Dream

Digging the new Editors album In Dream, about Dreams. Been a fan of the Editors since the early days. I was blown away by a show I saw of them here in Miami at Studio A in 00's. This new album goes from dark-slow-atmospheric stuff like "No Harm", to synthy/dancey stuff like "Life is a Fear" and "Our Love", and I'm digging it all! Lead singer Tom Smith's voice is in top form!

I'm Not A Band :: Cages

Berlin duo I'm Not A Band that we've posted about before sent us their new single/video for "Cages" and it is a sly little electro house number that can easily get into your subconscious and get you grooving in no time. Love the track and the breezy summer video they filmed for it that shows their travels throughout Barcelona. What's not to like? Check out the goodness below.

Hot Chip :: Need You Now (Video)

Hot Chip released another taste from their upcoming album 'Why Make Sense' in the form of a new video for the track "Need You Now". It's the housiest we've ever heard Hot Chip be, and it's really good!

Purse Candy :: Bar Fight (Video)

Loving the Purse Candy album Visions of a Healed Kingdom, particularly the single "Bar Fight". I burned the hell out of that track, so I was pretty excited when I saw they had a video for it today. What a great video for this silky smooth electro-pop jam.

Marina and the Diamonds :: I'm a Ruin (Video)

Marina's got a new video she released today for "I'm a Ruin" from her upcoming album Froot due in April. I just love everything this woman does. Since the beginning of her career until now. One talented and lovely lady with an amazing voice. This is what good pop music sounds like. Way better than most of the pop crap that's out there.

Metronomy :: I'm Aquarius (Video)

One of our favorite bands Metronomy just released their video for "I'm Aquarius". Their first single from their upcoming album 'Love Letters' being released in March 2014. Great tune/video! Can't wait for the album. For now this will have to suffice. Check it...

Daft Punk :: Instant Crush ft Julian Casablancas (Video)

We finally get a video to one of my favorite tracks off Daft Punk's latest album 'Random Access Memories' for "Instant Crush" ft Julian Casablancas of Strokes fame. Great track/video! I still play this track out in my sets and people always come up to me to ask what it is. The video's pretty sweet and heartwarming. I was waiting for the mannequins to come to life like the movie Mannequin from the 80's, although not quite, we get a little movement at the end. Check it...

Digits :: Say Goodbye

Toronto based artist Digits that we've been covering for some time sent us his new video for his track "Say Goodbye". Really love this track and his hushed way of singing it! The video shows the troubles you face when loved ones become zombies, kinda like in Walking Dead. We know you watch that show. Check those out below...

Arcade Fire :: Reflektor ft David Bowie

As most of you probably already know, Arcade Fire has a new album coming out this year produced by LCD's James Murphy. The video for first single "Reflektor" was just released today. Really cool video starring disco balls and really cool band masks. It was directed by Anton Corbijn who is responsible for most of Depeche Mode's videos/visuals since the late 80's, as well as many other high profile artists. The track also features guest backing vocals from the legendary David Bowie in the last third of the track. You can definitely see this track going in more of a dance direction, which is probably inevitable with James Murphy behind the decks, but we shall see. Can't wait to hear the album.

Arctic Monkeys :: Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?

It seems quartet from Sheffield, England is at it again with the track "Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?" It's nice to see Arctic Monkeys out with their fifth album, AM. If this single is any indication of what's in the album, it should be a good one.

The album also features guest musicians: Josh Homme, Pete Thomas and Bill Ryder-Jones. John Cooper Clarkes' lyrics appear on the track "I Wanna Be Yours".

Phoenix :: Trying to Be Cool (Video)

Phoenix just released their new video for "Trying to Be Cool" yesterday. They recorded it live as they did a bunch of gags throughout. Kinda like what LCD Soundsystem did for their "Drunk Girls" video. Think they did a great job! Wondering how many takes it took or if it was just one take straight through. Either way glad to see they put some effort into it. Nowadays alot of bands/artists release these really simple videos. So props to them for the creativity.

Pixies :: Bagboy (New Single/Video)

The other big news today is the release of the new Pixies single/video for "Bagboy". Their first new material in 9 years, which comes on the heels of having just announced the departure of original member Kim Deal. Really loving the track/video! Classic them! Does this mean a new album is in the works? One can only hope.
