On my way to my DJ gig last night had some time in the car to listen to legendary Beastie Boys Mike D's first solo album Thank You which was released a couple weeks ago. I wasn't sure if we were ever gonna get new music from the two remaining Beastie Boys members as it had been many years with nothing. Then a few months ago some clips of Mike D performing new music with his kid started popping up on my feed. Glad he got the itch and came back, loving the new record! It has great experimental beats, rhymes and hooks in his trademark Beastie Boys style. His voice is unmistakable and as good as ever.
