Fontaines D.C. :: Dopamine Chamber

Irish rock band Fontaines D.C. that I have loved since 2022's Skinty Fia recently announced new album Dopamine Chamber which is being released October the 16th. I keep hearing the new record will be more electronic / Depeche Mode like with less guitars. The first taste of the record first single 'Marianne' definitely supports this hypothesis without totally leaving behind their trademark style. It is sooo good! I cannot wait to hear this album from this band that only seems to be getting bigger with each passing year.

Check out the video for 'Marianne' below then set your calendars for this October release.

Friends :: Mind Control

Coming straight out of Brooklyn, New York it's Friends. The dance punk band came out with their debut album 'Manifest!' this past June. According to the band's Facebook page, they list their genre as weird pop. Though I'm assuming the Brooklyn quintet were just having fun.

They first came out with the hit single, "I'm his Girl", which gained a lot of airplay in the UK. Either way, enough typing and enjoy!

Adventure Galley :: Weekend Lovers

Our friends over at Low Life Inc are at it again, sending us another gem. This time it's six piece Portland, OR band Adventure Galley. Their track "Weekend Lovers" is mighty impressive. Amazing dark, pop dance track. I get a little Arcade Fire, Joy Division feel to it, but with a synth rock dance vibe that's hard to resist. Love the atmospheric intro. Check it out below and if you like what you hear it's free for the taking. Their debut album 'Anywhere it's Wild' is scheduled for release soon and is produced by Dave Trumfio of Jesus Mary Chain / Built to Spill / Wilco fame.

Friendly Fires :: New Album 'Pala'

Our generation knows the Internet has really lent itself to the exposure and availability to hear bands near and far. When I come across a band that I'm really into and hear that their new album is finally coming out, I can't help but get really excited.

It's been awhile since we heard anything new from Friendly Fires, but it was worth the wait! "Pala" their sophomore album is due out May 16, but with the luxury of websites like Hype Machine, we can stream the entire album right here and now. The band hails from a town in England, St. Albans Hertfordshire. They actually formed their first band a post-hardcore band, First Day Back at the age of 14. If you want a little more background, you can read their Wikipedia here.

I saw Friendly Fires at CMJ back in 2008 at the Fader Fort and I had just recently heard of them before then. Their 20 or so minute show was my favorite one of the bunch and I definitely put them on my "need to buy album" list. They had a fresh and energetic presence on stage. I became a big fan of their self-titled debut album released in 2008 that gained them a world wide presence very quickly.

I am on the 2nd round of listening to 'Pala' and it's already keeping me on my toes and intrigued. They've got that something special! Below are two tracks from their debut album "White Diamonds" and "Paris".

Moving Units :: We Are Enfant Terrible Remix

I am pretty sure I can say that all of us at Off the Radar have been fans of Moving Units for a long time. They make dance rock so well and whenever I hear them I can't help but move my feet. They always keep it sexy. Their new EP 'Tension War' is no exception. Their track "Until She Says" takes rock and roll to the disco in classic Moving Units fashion, sped up drums and funky bass lines. Loving the We Are Enfant Terrible remix of the track. Head to their website for a free download of their single "Pink Redemption".
