Probably in the running for one of the worst band names ever is Penguin Prison from NYC. It's so bad I almost didn't wanna post it, but his music is so good it trumps the name. It's like the conversations I have with artist friends of mine about band names. They don't really mean that much. If your music is good enough people will find you and overlook your name. Which is exactly the case with Penguin Prison. He makes great electronic dance music and has an ear for catchy pop hooks!
Here are a few tracks/remixes to get you aquainted with this up and comer. If you forget the name and just pay attention to the music I think you will agree, he's got tons of potential. In particular I'm loving the Jeffrey Jerusalem Remix for his track 'A Funny Thing'. Sooo good! Been playing it out tons!
