YOUR SOURCE FOR CUTTING EDGE NEW MUSIC
Candy Claws
Dream pop seems to be a relatively new genre, and thanks to Colorado-based Candy Claws, I know why it exists. Hidden Lands makes me wonder if they recorded it laying out in a forest on perfectly sunny days, randomly taking breaks to dip into a refreshing lake. The overwhelming airy sound of the overlapping synths with whispering vocals gives me an endless summer vibe that seems just right for this time of year. I just love how the aqueous vocals are direct quotes from Richard M. Ketchum's The Secret Life of the Forest. The album was released this past Tuesday on Brooklyn's Twosyllable Records and is streaming this week only, but once you have your fill, make sure to pick up a copy here!
