YOUR SOURCE FOR CUTTING EDGE NEW MUSIC

Young Man

The series that I am currently working on I have to endure a lot of patience and when I paint, I am always listening to music. This series has furthered my love for soft, calming and beautiful music (as if it could be more so). It enables me to paint with more patience. I have always been a sucker for this type of music and there's not a day that goes by where I don't listen to slow music. Young Man's first EP, "Boy" on Frenchkiss Records is another perfect album for my taste and for painting in the studio with patience and peacefulness.

Colin Caulfield, the man behind Young Man had first begun by covering songs and posting videos on You Tube just over a year ago. Deerhunter's frontman Bradford Cox stumbled upon Caulfield's beautiful organ-grinding rendition of "Rainwater Cassette Exchange" and said it's “fantastically superior to the original. It actually sent shivers up my spine, especially during the second verse.”

Simple guitar lines with the harmonies of his voice that are reminiscent of Animal Collective and Beach House had me hooked with the first track I heard, "Five".

The EP is available now through iTunes and will be released on CD/LP October 12th.
