DyE :: Fantasy

DyE (not a type-o) is the project of a very young French music student named Juan de Guillebon. What originally got me to check out the band out was the video to "Fantasy". "Fantasy" the standout track from 'Taki 183', starts out with two young kids at an indoor pool, what happens next is an interesting twist that includes romance, sci-fi and horror. The track is very chill and laid back. The album is very ambient in its totality, only with a few tracks that hypnotize your feet and make your body follow.

Walls

London electronic duo Walls who released a critically acclaimed self titled debut album last year that won Mojo's coveted Electronic Album of the Year as well as praise from Pitchfork & NME are getting ready to release album number two 'Coracle' on Sept. 26th. The first single from the new album is called "Sunporch" and it is a sweet ambient electronic track that I'm digging. Check it out via their soundcloud below and be sure to catch them on tour opening up for Battles.

Static Fingers

Its always great to see talented musicians surfacing from places way off the beaten path. Well, Off the Radar is proud to debut up and coming chillwave whiz Static Fingers, emerging on the scene from the unlikely and virtually untapped central state of Kansas. While he doesn't have a whole lot of material out at the moment, his first single "Tranquil Turbulence" is a glistening atmospheric gem of a track that takes chillwave to a new level of chill. Fingers crossed an EP is on the way, but until then, enjoy our first taste.

Swimming

Swimming are a 5 piece band from Nottingham, UK consisting of brothers and old friends. They are gonna be releasing their debut single "Sun in the Island" on March 7th via new label EVR Records. They have a great ambient electronic sound mixed with guitars and swirling synths that's pretty refreshing. They have been kind enough to send over the b-side to their first single "Team Jetstream" for us to post that will give you a good idea to their sound and get you excited about their forthcoming single/album. I know I am. Check out the excellent tune. Welcome boys!

Borracho :: Health Remix

Canadian duo Borracho! who we wrote about previously here have been away for a bit, at least compared to their frenetic pace of the last year or two. Now they return with this excellent remix for LA band Healths track "U.S.A. Boys" which is much more subdued and ambient than anything I've heard from them before and much different from Healths usual sound which is much heavier. That's what remixes are for right? Real good stuff you're gonna wanna download to your collection. Check it out and see for yourselves. Bonus points for the full quality 320 bit rate version they sent our way.

Here's also a video clip they put together for the remix.

Asura

L.A.'s Ryan York creates an unparralled sound under the name Asura by using guitars, piano, and fuzzy synthesizers. Asura's label Non Projects encourages creativity of art and sound. Which explains the 16 page booklet filled with art that's included with the purchase of a vinyl record of his. A well rounded purchase for anyone who is interested in feeding their imagination.

At first his name made me do a double take. Must have heard the name Asura before, but upon further reasearch it's his first album. I hope both Non Projects and Asura have a flourishing musical journey together. My ears and eyes will join the trip. No invitations required.

Isan

Isan is an electronic duo consisting of Robin Saville and Antony Ryan. Morr Music has always been on the forefront of bringing fans like myself electronic poetry that constantly pushes the boundaries of ambient sounds and space. Luckily, through the latest release of Isan's Glow In The Dark Safari Set, they've managed to prove their impeccable taste once again. While Saville resides in England and Ryan in Sweden, they manage to communicate on a level that goes beyond their physical boundaries and create a harmonious marriage between minimalism and pure melody. This month they released their sixth studio album so if the songs I previewed entice you to dig deeper, then just click here to get the full experience.

Saint Etienne Remixes Pains of Being Pure at Heart

Been a minute since I heard any news on Saint Etienne, but today I awoke to this beautiful flowing remix they did for Pains of Being Pure at Heart's 'Higher than the Stars' waiting for me in my inbox. Gorgeous re-interpretation. Had to post it right away. I'm sure you guys will agree. Here's to hoping they're working on some new original material as well.

uberLAB

Los Angeles based solo electronic artist uberLAB sent us over a copy of his brand new album entitled uberwunder that has just been released on itunes as well as amazon and it is a pretty spectacular voyage!

Beautiful  instrumental electronic music that he perfectly describes on his myspace as 'the pure & joyous emotion a child experiences when he/she sees or experiences something amazing for the first time. (Think of your first visit to Disneyland, or your first sight of snow)'.  That's pretty much the same feeling I get when listening to most of this album. Pure, simple and magical electronic music.

He also hits the nail on the head as he describes the sound as 'an intergalactic space voyage in a child's mind'. That just about sums it up perfectly!

Check out these 3 excellent tracks and see if you agree with those comparisons.
