House of Creatives Inaugural Music Festival

Our friends over at House of Creatives are getting ready for their Inaugural Music Festival and for the first one they got some major star power! I'm particularly psyched for Flaming Lips who I don't think have ever played South Florida before (at least that I could remember). Also on the bill are Crystal Castles (with a new singer), Breakbot, The Drums, Empress Of, Pompeya and many more. Pretty excited for this!

Early bird passes for both days go on sale Friday, Oct the 7th for $99 and can be purchased here. Highly recommend you pick those up asap as I'm not sure how many will be available, and this is one festival you're not gonna wanna miss!

New Order :: Tutti Frutti (Video) + Remixes + Tour

Psyched to finally be seeing one of my foundation bands New Order performing live this coming March at The Fillmore in Miami Beach. They were the last of my foundation bands that I had never seen play live (Peter Hook alone doesn't count).

To celebrate I wanted to do a little post on these living legends.

House of Creatives :: Brazilian Girls + Miami Beach with a Flask Playlist by Jay Thomas of Bluejay

Excited to be a part of this great collaborative event called House of Creatives going on Friday November the 6th from 5-10 pm at North Beach Bandshell on Miami Beach. Not only does it feature a Live Performance by the totally awesome Brazilian Girls, but they also incorporated a great line up of local Miami talent like : The Hongs, Millionyoung, Bluejay and the Grey 8's.

In addition to the bands performances there will also be art installations and DJ Sets, including one by yours truly representing Off the Radar, Aramis Lorie from PopLife and Patrick Walsh from Klangbox. They also got a bunch of cool local independent businesses/blogs/shops & WVUM to get on board, which is pretty cool!

To get you psyched for the event we got Jay Thomas of Bluejay to put together a little playlist which he titled 'Miami Beach with a Flask', featuring some of his favorite tracks by other Miami bands/artists, including some which will be performing at this event. It's a Miami love fest!

Metric :: Live at The Fillmore (Thurs, Aug 1st) Tix Giveaway

Seems Metric are fans of South Florida as they have been here quite a few times in the last few years. This coming Thursday, August 1st they are back in town at one of our favorite live music venues, The Fillmore on Miami Beach. Our friends at The Fillmore have been kind enough to offer us some free tixs to give away for the event and as we are big fans of the band we were happy to oblige! One thing's for sure they put on a hell of a live show!

Grizzly Bear :: Live @ The Fillmore Tuesday, June 18th (Tix Giveaway)

Brooklyn indie band Grizzly Bear are gonna be in Miami Beach next Tuesday, June 18th for a show at The Fillmore. Our friends at The Fillmore have asked us if we'd like to do a giveaway for the show, so of course we had to say yes! I know Mike has been a big fan of theirs who has covered them for years. Grizzly Bear is supporting their 2012 album Shields and will be supported by Majical Cloudz.

Check out a couple singles from Shields, "Gun Shy" and "Yet Again", as well as their video for "Gun Shy". YOUNG HEARTS - Tues Oct 2nd @ The Delano :: Tiger & Woods

It's officially October and summer is behind us. Now commences the annual finger-crossing and hoping that at some point throughout the next few months your favorite music act hits Miami so you don't have to wait out the long winter till WMC or Ultra to catch them. Starting tomorrow the chances just got a lot better with the launch of Young Hearts, the new monthly Tuesday party at the Delano Hotel. Together with over 25 years of experience in music, Inbal Lankry and Kloud IX Entertainment bring you a party comprised of innovative underground music selection, and a southeastern breeze that creates the weightless vibe currently missing from your week. An intimate poolside Nu-disco retreat, Young Hearts is something that is nowhere to be found in Miami. Take the plunge into the pool or stay dry, either way your sure to groove effortlessly into Wednesday.

First up tomorrow (Tues Oct. 2nd) is production duo, Tiger & Woods. Not much is known about them and they seem to like it that way. However their sound speaks volumes, answering all possible questions you might have about dancing on a Tuesday, or in the pool. Check out some of Tiger & Wood's original productions below, as well as a remix of a Tensnake track they did and their recent set at Movement Festival in Detroit (free download). If by chance the weather turns typical Miami, the party will be relocated to the Delano's FDR. See everyone tomorrow!
