Haute & Freddy :: Touch Touch

Some of the best music discoveries come from friends who also have great taste in music. Got a couple of those for you today. The first one is from LA duo Haute & Freddy. They recently released new single 'Touch Touch' and it is an 80's sounding pop gem! So good, can't stop listening to it. Thanks to my buddy Josh for the recommend.

Check out their video for 'Touch Touch' below and if you like what you hear they released an album earlier this year in March called Big Disgrace that you can delve into further.

The Drums + Mareux :: It Didn't Matter

It had been awhile since I heard NYC's The Drums. I was super into their 2010 track 'Let's Go Surfing' back in the days when indie was king. Cut to 2026 and heard this new single from them 'It Didn't Matter' that they did with Mareux the other day and I instantly recognized his voice. Great new single that sounds pretty different from 'Let's Go Surfing' (more on the pop side), but still a solid track. Thought I'd post that for you guys to check out.

NEIKED x Portugal. The Man :: Glide

Came across this gorgeous collab the other day by NEIKED x Portugal. The Man called 'Glide'. Such a lovely breezy indie pop track that is a perfect for summer. Will definitely be playing this one quite a bit.

Check out the goodness below...

Morrissey :: Make-Up is a Lie

Morrissey who was a long time without a label and unable to release an album has recently signed with Sire records, his old label with The Smiths. Very soon after the announcement he released the title track "Make-Up is a Lie" with the album with the same name being set for release on March the 6th. The odd thing is his older album that was never released 'Bonfire of Teenagers' kinda got skipped over for this newer release. Maybe we will see the release of that one as well soon or maybe not for many years, we shall see.

For now check out the first single below with the surprised cover art of him which looks like will be the actual album artwork. Probably the moment he was told Sire signed him, haha.

Rainsford :: Intentions ft Twin Shadow

Got sent this sweet indie pop tune by LA artist Rainsford called "Intentions" which features the amazing Twin Shadow sharing vocal duties with her in the choruses, and even a bit of a verse for himself as well. Great pop tune! She describes the song's inspiration as coming from being in a couple of relationships in the past were neither of them really knew what they wanted and were scared to truly speak their minds, leaving her wondering "what are your intentions?".

Check that out below...

Los Colognes :: Flying Apart

Speaking of pop gold, got sent this indie pop gem called "Flying Apart" by five piece Nashville, Tennessee band Los Colognes. It is so breezy and smooth, it gives me the feeling of a warm summer day out in the park. It is their first single from their upcoming album The Wave being released May 12th, just in time for the actual summer. This track gets me real excited to check out the rest of that record. For now "Flying Apart" will hold us off nicely. Check that out below...

You can pre-order a CD/Vinyl of the album on their site.

The Fame Riot :: Heart Stray

Looks can be deceiving. I was totally expecting a different sound from Seattle's The Fame Riot with their flamboyant glam style, but their track "Heart Stray" is pure pop gold. Exuberant and catchy, I can't stop playing it. Can someone help,,,, me,,,, stop?!

Check out their soundcloud/video for "Heart Stray" below...

Ladyhawke :: Wild Things

It had been awhile since I heard new music from New Zealand's Ladyhawke, an old time favorite of mine that I used to play out quite a bit in my DJ sets. Today I saw her new video for new single "Wild Things" and it reminded me how much I missed her brand of 80's inspired synthpop. Seems her new album Wild Things just came out last month and as I type this I am listening to it. So far, so good! Real polished record.

Check out her colorful roller rink video for "Wild Things" below, plus a couple additional tracks from her new album "A Love Song" and "Sweet Fascination". If you dig these and wanna grab the album, it's available on iTunes.

The Strokes :: Threat of Joy (Video) + New EP

The Strokes (who I will forever love) have a new EP out called Future Present Past. They just released a video for the track "Threat of Joy" from the EP which is classic them and pretty entertaining.

Check that out below...

John Mark Nelson

Another excellent artist I came across in that NPR SXSW playlist is John Mark Nelson from Minnesota. John's voice and music reminds me a whole of the band Travis. Any other Travis lovers out there? If so this guy will definitely be your cup of tea. Sublime and lovely contemporary pop music for adults.

His album I'm Not Afraid is out now. You can sample the tracks on his soundcloud and if you like what you hear you can buy it on his site.

Check out "I'll Give You More" which first caught my attention, plus another favorite "Control" and his video for "Dream Last Night" also from the album.

M83 :: New Album Junk + World Tour

Whenever we get new music from M83, it is a good day! Today they released "Do It, Try It", their opening track from their highly anticipated 7th album Junk being released April 8th. In addition to the new album they also announced an upcoming World Tour! How sweet is that!? Saw them Live a few years ago, and they were phenomenal! I don't see a Miami date yet, but we'll keep our fingers crossed. They seem to be playing almost everywhere else.

Tour Dates + Junk Tracklisting.

Here's their youtube audio for "Do It, Try It" with a cute dog wagging it's tongue for us.

Ivy Nations :: You Are The Centre of Me

Digging this New Order-esque track "You Are The Centre of Me" sent our way by Dublin indie band Ivy Nations. Catchy stuff with great vocals/lyrics + cool guitars & synths. What's not to love? They might have a future here... Check out the tune below and keep the music coming fellas.

Brave Shores

Toronto brother/sister duo Brave Shores sent us some of their tunes and I am digging the sounds! They've got a great uplifting indie pop style. Brightens my mood, so thought I'd share. That's what music's all about right? Sharing the good stuff.

Check out two of my favorite tunes from their soundcloud "More Like You" (current fave! so chill, #I'veseriouslylistenedtoitlike10timesalready), plus "Never Come Down" (get your dance on). In addition to the soundclouds here is their video for "Surf's Up" with some cool animations. All the tracks can can be found on their self titled EP that you can pick up on iTunes.

Glad to have you on our Radar.

House of Creatives :: Brazilian Girls + Miami Beach with a Flask Playlist by Jay Thomas of Bluejay

Excited to be a part of this great collaborative event called House of Creatives going on Friday November the 6th from 5-10 pm at North Beach Bandshell on Miami Beach. Not only does it feature a Live Performance by the totally awesome Brazilian Girls, but they also incorporated a great line up of local Miami talent like : The Hongs, Millionyoung, Bluejay and the Grey 8's.

In addition to the bands performances there will also be art installations and DJ Sets, including one by yours truly representing Off the Radar, Aramis Lorie from PopLife and Patrick Walsh from Klangbox. They also got a bunch of cool local independent businesses/blogs/shops & WVUM to get on board, which is pretty cool!

To get you psyched for the event we got Jay Thomas of Bluejay to put together a little playlist which he titled 'Miami Beach with a Flask', featuring some of his favorite tracks by other Miami bands/artists, including some which will be performing at this event. It's a Miami love fest!

"Virgo is like a dance club in the depths of the ocean. Her spell is strong."

Oliver Sol :: After Dark

Sorry I've been a bit busy lately and haven't been able to post. Got a ton of backlog of amazing music clogging my inbox, like this debut single "After Dark" from Melbourse artist Oliver Sol. Such an epic sounding tune! If this is his first offering, he's got a bright future ahead of him. I'm glad to have him on our Radar, and hopefully now he's on yours as well. Check it...

Ryder :: Pretty Little Gangster

Digging this lovely indie pop tune "Pretty Little Gangster" sent our way by LA artist Ryder. Groovy little jam. Apparently she's amassed over 250k soundcloud plays already. Pretty impressive. Check out the tune below and if you dig it, it's a free download in exchange for a soundcloud/twitter follow.

Bag Raiders Return!

Been awhile since we've heard some new music from Bag Raiders, but today all that changed as I spotted two new tracks on their soundcloud! The first one "Vapour Trails" was released 28 days ago, and the new one "Waterfalls" was just released 19 hours ago. Both are excellent indie pop tunes of the kind we are used to hearing from these talented Australians. Can't wait to hear a new album from them. Saw them perform live once and they impressed! Check out the newness...

Dim Sum :: High Love

We've been fans of Dim Sum for quite a while now and his new single "High Love" does not disappoint! He continues with his high standards of excellence. A great indie pop/nu-disco jam! Check out that tune below, plus a slightly dancier, and equally as good remix by Cesare that is fire as well!

Pompeya :: Real

Loving the new album from Moscow band Pompeya 'Real' that was released last week. It's one of my favorite new albums. First heard "Tell Me, Tell Me" the other day on the radio, and I was instantly hooked. I love the lead singer's voice, their lovely melodies and their 80's inspired sound. They freely admit their love and inspiration from 70's, 80's new wave and pop music, which only makes me love them more.

Check out the excellent "Pasadena" which they have up on their soundcloud, plus some cool remixes I spotted on there, including an amazing remix by The Twelves who we hadn't posted about in forever. Forgot how much I missed them.

You can preview/buy 'Real' on iTunes. Highly Recommended!

Couldn't resist not posting "Tell Me, Tell Me". Listen at your peril though, as you may become addicted (like I did), and have to press play a bunch of times a day.

The Rebel Light :: Strangers

Another great submission we received today is from LA indie pop trio The Rebel Light and their fresh track "Strangers". Really digging it's indie pop charm. It has a great breezy retro feel to it, complete with horns, catchy choruses, and lovely vocals. Best part is they are giving away the track as a free download in full wave length quality! We'll take it!
