Junior Boys :: Big Black Coat

Loving the new Junior Boys album Big Black Coat. It is their fifth album and their first new album since 2011's It's All True. That is way too long to not have new music from Junior Boys. At least it was not a let down. The record is fantastic and classic Junior Boys. Minimal electronic pop goodness.

Brave Shores

Toronto brother/sister duo Brave Shores sent us some of their tunes and I am digging the sounds! They've got a great uplifting indie pop style. Brightens my mood, so thought I'd share. That's what music's all about right? Sharing the good stuff. 

Check out two of my favorite tunes from their soundcloud "More Like You" (current fave! so chill, #I'veseriouslylistenedtoitlike10timesalready), plus "Never Come Down" (get your dance on). Wolf Saga + For ESME :: Gold Lion (Yeah Yeah Yeahs Cover)

Got sent this sweet cover of Yeah Yeah Yeahs classic "Gold Lion" by Canada's Wolf Saga & For Esme. Nice mid-tempo reinterpretation which they also happen to be giving away as a free download. That's nice! Check it out below...

Bravestation :: Actors

Loving this track "Actors" sent our way by Toronto, Canada trio Bravestation. Great dream-pop jem from their forthcoming Summer EP. Got us excited to hear more, see if it does the same for you.

Chromeo :: White Women

Loving the new Chromeo album 'White Women' that was just released. It incorporates a bunch of different styles from pop, smooth rock, funk, disco with an 80's feel to it. I liken them to a modern day Hall & Oates. You can definitely tell they were influenced by bands like that. With this album they seem to have made a concerted effort to create carefully crafted sublime tracks that will stand the test of time. More so than their previous albums, which were good, but more straight up dance floor tracks. Good from beginning to the end, they are definitely hitting their groove with this one. Recommended!

Le Roi Crocodile :: Youth Decay

Got sent this excellent electronic pop track "Youth Decay" by 16 year old artist from Vancouver, Canada going under the moniker of Le Roi Crocodile. Hard to believe he is 16 and already making music this good. Can you imagine how good he'll be in another 10 years when he'll be the ripe old age of 26? Kids nowadays. Super eccentric Canadian artist Grimes has just released her highly entertaining and equally odd new video for her track "Genesis". The video comes in the midst of massive world-wide tour she has just begun to embark on. Check out that vid below as well as a few great remixes of "Genesis" and a few of her other tracks I've stumbled upon, all of which coincidentally are up for grabs as free downloads!
