Jude :: Pretend
Brooklyn by way of Florida duo Jude sent over their brand spanking new single "Pretend" and it is one lovely piece of chilled out dream pop. Press play and prepare to be transported away...
Ohh, did I mention it's a free download? Just gotta like their Facebook/Soundcloud for the goods.
Pompeya :: Real
Loving the new album from Moscow band Pompeya 'Real' that was released last week. It's one of my favorite new albums. First heard "Tell Me, Tell Me" the other day on the radio, and I was instantly hooked. I love the lead singer's voice, their lovely melodies and their 80's inspired sound. They freely admit their love and inspiration from 70's, 80's new wave and pop music, which only makes me love them more.
Check out the excellent "Pasadena" which they have up on their soundcloud, plus some cool remixes I spotted on there, including an amazing remix by The Twelves who we hadn't posted about in forever. Forgot how much I missed them.
You can preview/buy 'Real' on iTunes. Highly Recommended!
Couldn't resist not posting "Tell Me, Tell Me". Listen at your peril though, as you may become addicted (like I did), and have to press play a bunch of times a day.
Bravestation :: Actors
Loving this track "Actors" sent our way by Toronto, Canada trio Bravestation. Great dream-pop jem from their forthcoming Summer EP. Got us excited to hear more, see if it does the same for you.
Wunder Wunder :: Midnight Hours (Zimmer Remix)
Parisian producer/DJ Zimmer that we posted about back in 2011 and I got to meet/DJ with a couple years ago during Art Basel at Bardot, put out his latest remix for Wunder Wunder's "Midnight Hours" and it is mighty fine! A delicious slice of dreampop/dreamwave goodness. Best part is he offering the remix as a free download in exchange for your email. A very fair compromise, wouldn't you say? Best jump on it.
Say Lou Lou X Lindstrom :: Games for Girls
Looking for a new jam? Check out this track by the duo Say Lou Lou who teamed up with the amazing Lindstrom to bring us "Games for Girls", which is pretty much an instant classic. Super catchy dance jam that should be lighting up a dance floor near you. It is being released Oct 12th and it is off their upcoming debut album 'Lucid Dreaming' which is being released Feb 2nd, 2015. That is quite awhile's away so this jam will have to suffice. Hopefully we'll get another track or two before then.
P.S. Whoever is doing their styling and photography is on point! They got a super cool vintage 70's look and they are very easy on the eyes.
Goldroom :: Till Sunrise ft Mammals
Even though Goldroom released the stems for his new track "Till Sunrise" ft Mammals prior to the release of the single, his PR rep and I are in agreement that his original version is still the best version out there! I mean there's bound to be a few amazing re-interpretations, but this is one solid dreamy pop jem, as per usual for the talented producer.
Walter Sobcek :: No Blue Skies
Our friends Parisian duo Walter Sobcek sent us their latest tune "No Blue Skies". A cover of a 1990 Lloyd Cole track. Once again another impressive, smooth groove tune that will be getting tons of plays from us at OTR. The track includes a video featuring footage from the cult classic film Summer Lovers, featuring a very young Darryl Hannah in some menage a trois action. Check those out below...
Work Drugs :: West Coast Slide (Video)
Been away from the blogging gig for a bit, being kept super busy brining my son into the world. What better way to return than with a bit of excellent new summer fare from a long time OTR favourite Work Drugs. This track "West Coast Slide" is the first single from their upcoming new album Mavericks, out next month. The track and it's accompanying video are perfectly timed for setting the stage for summer fun!
Owl Eyes :: Closure
Don't know much about Melbourne, Australia artist Owl Eyes except that she is one talented lady. Got sent her video for first single "Closure" off her debut album Nightswim (which is out now) and I was instantly hooked. She's got a lovely dream pop sound that I'm a sucker for. Her looks don't hurt the cause either.
Check out her soundcloud/video for "Closure" below, plus the title track from her album "Nightswim" that they are giving away as a free download in exchange for your email. Good to have you on our Radar.
The Black and White Years :: Just Like Old Times
Got sent this lovely tune "Just Like Old Times" by Austin band The Black and White Years who seems accidentally discovered the lead singer's wife could sing after she reluctantly demo'd for a track. Lo and behold she had an amazing voice and is now part of the band. You never know till you try, right. This track is definitely proof of that. Check it out...
Work Drugs :: Young Lungs
Gotta say I've been a fan of pretty much everything Work Drugs has put out, and this new single "Young Lungs" from the Philly duo does not disappoint. Its a shining example of synth-pop at its finest, with some bonus sexy sax thrown in at the end for good measure. Best part is its being given away as a free download! So check out/pick up the track below, and enjoy the single's entertaining extreme sports video as well.
Saskatchewan :: Venom
Care for a lovely dreampop tune? Then look no further than Orlando band Saskatchewan. They contacted us about their latest single "Venom" and upon first listen I was smitten. I can put this track on repeat and never get tired of it. So smooth and lovely. Best part is they are offering this beaut as a free download in full wave quality. What more could we possibly want? Except maybe even more material. Can't wait for that, especially if this track is any indication of what's to come. Keep'em coming fellas, you got our attention.
M83 :: LIVE @ The Fillmore Wed, Sept 26th (Ticket Giveaway)
One of the most anticipated shows to hit Miami in awhile is for M83 who will be performing this Wednesday, Sept the 26th at The Fillmore on Miami Beach. I know I for one am super excited to catch them live for the first time! Now after months of wait the day is almost upon us and your friends at OTR have a couple of ticket giveaways for the show!
Here's some tracks/video for them that you should be pretty familiar with, particularly "Midnight City" which was our pick for favorite song of 2011 and been huge this year. Also "Couleurs" and "Kim & Jessie" both two of our favorite tracks off their excellent album Saturdays = Youth. The rules are pretty simple just follow them below and come back Monday when we will be announcing the winner. Good luck and see you guys at the show!

Castratii :: Eora LP
You can't help but love the heavy, dramatic shoe-gaze of Aussie band Castratii's debut LP Eora. Released midsummer, the LP is a masterpiece of seven gorgeously epic tracks, described as "gloom-gaze", that they say represent the extreme, vast and mysterious landscape in which they are a part of and for which the album derives its title: Eora, the aboriginal name for Sydney, where Castratii hails from. Check out a few of my faves from the album below as well as the sexy video for the albums track "Kingdom".
Asbjorn :: The Criminal
Hello Everyone! My name is Natalia, Argentina born, but a Florida local now and I am very excited to be given the opportunity to write for Off the Radar. I'm looking forward to delivering as many new artists and sounds as possible to you all that will range from all over the globe. Cheers to my first post and to many more! So let's begin with one of my most recent encounters:
Nineteen years old and creating a mark of his own. Asbjorn comes straight from Aarhus, Denmark
promising great musical delivery of electronic/modern pop. The air of
vulnerability yet dominance he offers through his presence and
performance are enough to captivate the eyes and ears of many who come
across his sound. Asbjorn easily paints many colors and imagery with his
songs, lyrics fall so naturally from his lips with a unique aura that traps attention. The future of his music looks to be on the right track to success.
High Places & David Scott Stone :: All the Days Blur Together, & More
I recently got into a great duo that had slipped my radar over the past year. High Places, originally from Brooklyn, now based out of L.A. has really mastered a phenomenal space pop sound with perfect dosages of future dub and garagie basslines layered throughout most of their tracks. I first was introduced to High Places through "All the Days Blur Together," a single that they got together with David Scott Stone (LCD Soundsystem) and released close to a year ago. The song has climbed almost as fast as any track ever has up my iTunes "number of plays" list. I'm not sure whether it is the alluring sound of the vocals that pull me in, or if it's the perfect tempo and energy with just the right amount of placidity that allows for the track to be left on repeat. Definitely keeping High Places in my rotation, and looking forward to new releases. Enjoy!
Astronauts, etc :: Supermelodic Pulp
In keeping with the dream pop of today got sent another couple great tracks "Mystery Colors" and "You Can Yell" from Berkeley educated Astronauts, etc. His debut EP 'Supermelodic Pulp' is scheduled for release September the 8th and if these two tracks are any indication we are in for a treat. Check out the goods below, both free for the taking as well as his video for "Mystery Colors", then keep an eye out for the EP when it's released in a couple of weeks.

Kodiak Fur
Got sent this self titled debut EP by new Miami band Kodiak Fur. Gorgeous dream wave pop goodness that I can hear over and over. Can't believe they're from Miami. Great to have music like this being produced in our Magic City. Check out the first single/video for "Hi Luv" below, plus another lovely tune from the EP "Dice", but really there's not a bad track in the bunch. Sample the rest of the EP on their soundcloud which is available as a free download. Talk about a beautiful thing. Good to have you boys on our Radar!

Goldroom :: Fifteen (Video/Remix)
Ray posted Goldroom's nostalgic electronic track "Fifteen" back in May here. Now, enjoy the great new video plus this awesome remix of the feel-good summer song.

Oli Chang :: Maaam
NYC's Oli Chang from the band High Highs that we posted about previously here sent us his latest track "Maaam" and it is one gorgeous track! Electro-pop dreamy deliciousness that has been stuck on repeat. Check out the track below and if you like what you hear he is offering it as a free download. Now it'd be outright dumb not to scoop that baby up. Enjoy and keep up the great work Oli!
P.S. his band High Highs recently signed to Elton John's management label Rocket Music and are gearing up to release their debut record in the coming months. Keep an eye out for that.
