Today the compact disc turns 25. You have come a long way since your parents (Philips and Sony) developed you in Germany Mr. Compact Disc (or is it Ms.?).You have grown so much over the years. From a 115 mm (68minutes) to 120 mm (74-80 minutes) so that you could fit Beethoven's 9th Symphony.
And your offspring each have their own accomplishments to tout! The CD-Rom, DVD, your poor disowned cousin the laser disc...
Anybody remember the first CD they bought?
