Ellis & Jinings :: Another Day

Portland's Matthew Ellis from the band Purse Candy that we really like and posted about before here, has a new side project with another Portland artist that goes by the name The Plain Ensemble. They are calling their new project Ellis & Jinings. The first track they've put out / sent our way is "Another Day" and it is a breezy deliciously tropical sounding electro-pop jam that reminds us that summer is right around the corner. I can picture myself listening to this pool side already. Can't wait to hear more from them.

Summer is slowly inching closer, and this track "Wait For You" that Seattle trio Go Periscope sent our way is reminding us of that. Almost time for those frozen margaritas poolside under the warm summer sun, or if you're lucky like us in Miami, right by the ocean as the waves hit the coast. Loving the tropical vibes of "Wait For You", especially the fact that they are giving the tune away as a free download in exchange for a twitter or soundcloud follow. Chicago's Autograf who's excellent remix of Lorde's track "Team" we posted last month here, sent us his latest remix, and it's another winner! This time he re-worked The Griswolds "Beware the Dog" (with an adorable pic of my fave dog breed, Frenchies!) Great up tempo, tropical sounding dance jam. Check out the loveliness below. Ten Walls :: Walking With Elephants (Colour Vision Re-Imagination)

I'm gonna pretend that the weather is not super London here today in Miami. Not cloudy, rainy and breezy, and instead pretend it is sunny, warm and pretty. Like the vibe that I get from this awesome remix by Colour Vision for Ten Walls track "Walking With Elephants". He turns the tune into a full on tropical steel drum jam. Makes me wanna hop on a cruise for the weekend and head out to a caribbean island somewhere.

Goldroom :: Otoño Mix 2014 (DJ Mix)

Haven't been posting too many DJ mixes lately cause frankly haven't been getting sent too many good ones. Today that changed as I spotted the new Goldroom DJ Mix Otoño 2014 (which means fall for you non-spanish speaking folks). This fellows quarterly DJ mixes are always on point, so much so that I still carry his Otoño DJ mix from 2013 in my DJ bag for when I need a little break at a gig.

As I was looking for new tunes I ran across this gem of a remix by Matoma for Coucheron's "Deep End" ft Eastside & Mayor Hawthorne. Such a slick and subdued tropical sounding remix. It is a master stroke that I can hear over and over. The fact that it's a free download only made me wanna post this up even sooner for our readers. Can't wait to hear more from this talented fellow.

Palmbomen :: Black Safari

Our friend Palmbomen (aka Kai Hugo) from Berlin who I recently got to meet here in Miami just released his new single "Black Safari". It's an amazing dreamy tropical tune that I can hear over and over. Can't wait to hear what else he has in store for us as his debut album is on the horizon.
