I'm Not A Band :: Cages

Berlin duo I'm Not A Band that we've posted about before sent us their new single/video for "Cages" and it is a sly little electro house number that can easily get into your subconscious and get you grooving in no time. Love the track and the breezy summer video they filmed for it that shows their travels throughout Barcelona. What's not to like? Check out the goodness below.

The 2 Bears :: Be Strong

The 2 Bears is a band from London. Their music is chill and has a groove that is a mixture of soul, lo-fi and house. The band is actually composed of Joe Goddard (of electronic band Hot Chip) and Raf Rundell.

The band was also supposed to include Joe Mount from Metronomy, but due to issues he could not become part of the band. Instead, the band went from The 3 Bears to The 2 Bears. Either way, enough reading. You guys are here for the music.

Sample the Goods. Here's the whole album 'Be Strong' for you to listen to.

DIGITALISM :: New Remix & DJ Set @ Grand Central 6.16

Here is Digitalism's new remix to Stimming's Funkworm. Just up on SoundCloud and just in time for their show in Miami tonight! Also included is an exclusive new track called Simply Dead, out soon on the German electro house duo's upcoming DJ Kicks album. See you all tonight!

Sharkoffs :: Club Cinema LIVE Set

Driving up to Club Cinema last week was a highlight of ours. Electro-House producer/DJ Sharkoffs, a South Florida native was set to open up for Steve Aoki. Thinking we were prepared for the madness was a mistake, just after Sharkoffs took over, around 11pm pure insanity broke loose amongst 2,500 of some of the most energetic people we've ever seen on a Tuesday! Chalked full of a diverse assortment of heart-pumping tracks, his selection impressed us and kept the entire crowd in a feeding frenzy for what was coming next. Perfect for getting ready to go out, this live mix is sure to make some waves for this 19 year old. Definitely giving his all to entertain and energize, we were overwhelmed with the ride Shakoffs took us on for the hour, and did not stay for Aoki (reason: being completely content). If this hour long wickedness doesn't satisfy your appetite, check out Sharkoffs SoundCloud.

Brass Knuckles :: Live @ Amnesia Saturday, May 19

This Saturday we are finally going to Amnesia! We're extremely excited we waited, as now we'll be introduced to the venue by the kinetic sounds of South Florida's Brass Knuckles, who will be playing alongside Joachim Garraud. We continue to be very impressed with Brass Knuckles, and consistently use them as an example when mentioning the evolution of emerging artists and EDM acts over a short period of time. After seeing these guys in an array of venues, Miami get ready, because this dynamic trio will be sure to keep you from dwelling on your responsibilities for the week to come. New original tracks from Brass Knuckles are due for release over the next few months, as well as a summer tour through Asia (see dates below). See you Saturday evening.

Summer 2012 Asia Tour Dates ::

June 7   @ Mint, Shanghai
June 15 @ Spark, Beijing
June 16 @ Republiq, Manila
June 21 @ Play, Hong Kong
June 23 @ Mink, Singapore

AXXE + Cavaliers of Fun

Master of that throwback synth sound, Cavaliers of Fun is back with another fantastic remix after the incredible success of their mix of Dragonette track 'Fixin' to Thrill' that I posted here back in November. This time he has worked his magic with Montreal dance-electro duo AXXE's perfect party prep song 'Saturday Night' resulting in a smooth disco dancefloor piece with Cav of Fun's signature sound all over it.

2Horsemen

2Horsemen are Felipe and Rabih. An electronic production duo from the hot spot of São Paulo, Brazil.

Seems they are just getting started, but I'm already digging where their heading. Great electro-house dancefloor jams!

They sent us these two workings of their first track 'MOMEN7UM' in Original and Nightmare version and both in full 320! See which one suits you better. Think I'm leaning more towards the Nightmare one. Darker always wins with me.

More in the works... Stay tuned.

Ladycreme

Need a Hot Summer Mix??

I got a great one that'll do the trick by NYC Brooklyn based duo Ladycreme. That area keeps blowing up huh, keep finding great stuff coming from there.

Found this sweet mix by Ladycreme entitled Alstublieft the other day on B-Electro and been jamming it ever since. You guys are gonna love it! The mix features many of the same artists we love here at Off the Radar.

I wrote the duo and they were kind enough to send me a few mp3's of their own original material for us to post as well. It mainly consists of Electro-House goodness, perfect for the dancefloor or a nice run.

Here is that mix plus a couple of mp3's from them in full 320 kbps! Go to their myspace link above to hear more from these up and comers.

Golden Bug

The latest offering on the radar is electronic robot funk in the form of Barcelona's Golden Bug (Antoine Harispuru). He has just recently released his debut full-length Hot Robot after issuing some singles on Gomma Records (WhoMadeWho) which have been well received by the likes of Prins Thomas, Shit Robot, and Digitalism.

This record is full of 70's funk beats, nu disco grooves, and processed vocals that take you on a weird yet amazing journey through the musical gamut. The opening track, Midnight Rabbit, is a strange but satisfying slice of disco funk that is played out alongside robot-esque vocals. The lead single, Look Look Look, is full of killer dance beats and great synth lines.

Here are those tracks as well as a pretty cool video for the In Flagranti (who are so hot right now) remix of Look Look Look.

Moulinex

Just wanted to do a quick post to share this great remix I got by Moulinex. I've written about him before on the blog. Love his remixes! Here's another great one he did for College. A little piece of dancefloor heaven...

MP3: Fantasy Park (Moulinex Remix) - College feat Anoraak (YSI)

Cicada

London based electronic artists Cicada are back with a great new single 'Falling Rockets' plus a couple hot remixes by Moulinex and Just a Band. I couldn't decide which remix I liked better, so I'm gonna post them both for you to decide. Can't wait to hear their full length! This first single has definitely set the bar high and will most certainly set many a dancefloor on fire!

Sneaky Sound System / G.L.O.V.E.S.

G.L.O.V.E.S. who rocked it last month with Van She's Remix for 'Changes' hit another knockout blow with this remix of Sneaky Sound System's 'When We Were Young'. Great electro-house number sure to get the kids jumping on the dancefloor! It's also a great track to mix up with any nu-disco/classic disco sets you may have floating around.
Try it on for size...

Here's a great puppet video Sneaky Sound System did for their track 'Kansas City'

Rory Phillips @ The Vagabond Friday!!

Seems like Miami has been getting a steady stream of cool shows coming through lately (Lee Burridge, Yelle, Hercules & Love Affair) All the different factions of our scene are bringing their niche artists. Some more house, some more disco, some more electro or pop and I love them all! The variety is great! Hope it's a trend that continues!

This Friday (10/17) @ The Vagabond we got another one! Rory Phillips of Trash/London fame rolls into town to rock our little city. Never went to the Trash party or London for that matter :( but I have heard of the party and I think it went on for 10 yrs or so, so it must've been something special! Plus how lucky is Rory? He got to spin next to Erol Alkan every week as a co-resident! Here are some remixes he's done including a Disco Dub that's pretty hot and of the times! Can't wait to hear what he plays out!

I'll be mixing it up with Rory and Mike this Friday! Expect extra craziness for this already super fun weekly! Go before 11 for complimentary admission! Plus of course the world famous $1 Stella's before Midnight!

Cheers!

MP3: Parentheses (Rory Phillips Remix) - The Blow (YSI)
MP3: With Every Heartbeat (Rory Phillips Remix) - Kleerup w/Robyn (YSI)

P.S. Every time I hear the word Trash I think of that great Suede track from Coming Up, one of my all time favorite albums! Here's the video for that classic track/band! I wish there were more bands today that were as glam as they were in the 90's. It's just sorely missing nowadays...

Bruce Willis Is Dead

Next question, did he die hard?

No really, he's not dead. But this track is pretty damn hard. It's not groundbreaking or anything. In fact I you can head over to club row on 11st Street in "Dwntwn" Miami (ie. the area I avoid like the plague but I hang out 3 blocks away... LOLOL) and catch a lot of stuff like this.

But it's Mr. Oizo. And he and his little sock puppet, Flat Eric, have a special place in my a heart 4-ever. And it's also a ridiculously slow Friday and the weekend is going to be rained out so might as well give you some dance party music.

MP3: Mr. Oizo - Bruce Willis Is Dead (ysi) - removed (I didn't like the song anyways)
And this is the "optimisic" website outlook... (another site said Saturday 60%)
