ArtDance :: Saturday (8/8) Eons Release Party at The Annex

This Saturday (8/8) we got the third installment of our monthly series ArtDance at The Annex. For this one our good friends Eons will be celebrating their Release Party for their New EP Serene Machine. Covered these guys tons on OTR. Love their smooth dreamwave/electro-pop sound! Really glad to have them joining us. They will also be premiering their new video for "Like a Dream" from the EP right before their performance at Midnight (their first live show in over 6 months)!

In addition on this night our good friend Carmel Ophir (The Vagabond/Back Door Bamby) will be joining us behind the decks for an opening set. If you know Carmel you know how much he loves good music. So I am sure he will be rocking, and get us shaking it on the dancefloor early! Who knows he may even join Josh and myself later in the night as well for a little APT 407 reunion.

Finally after the band Joshy Josh and Ray Milian bring you the indie dance jams! From the hits we grew up with to the hits of today, we mix it up. Keeping it fun and jumping till 4 am under the big top!

The party starts at 10 PM and there's No Cover. They also have a full kitchen that's open all night if you get the munchies. Love that outdoor Annex space. Sure will will too!

Reuben Wu (Ladytron) DJ Set Giveaway

Tomorrow, June 24th for the weekly Death's Door party at The Garret they are bringing Special Guest DJ Reuben Wu from Ladytron. Ladytron were one of the coolest bands in the early to mid 2000's. They helped usher the return of cool synths and sexy vocals to the dance floor. "Playgirl", "Destroy Everything You Touch", "Seventeen" and others were staple tracks that could be heard at all the indie parties around town from PopLife to Revolver and Spiderpussy. Lots of fine moments jamming to their grooves on the dance floor. Can't wait to meet him as I will be opening up the night with a DJ set as well. SLAP & TICKLE - Tuesday Nov. 12th @ Bardot :: XXXY live (Tonight!)

There's quite a nice treat in store for Miamians tonight, that is if you're keen in the know of Tuesday's best places to catch gigs that will have you wondering why you have work in the morning.

Tonight, multi-talented London based modern garage, tech-house producer XXXY will grace Slap & Tickle at Bardot with a comprehensive live set of his productions that will surely provide you with enough of a kick-burst of energy to sail you through the rest of your week. Being that XXXY was named the fourth-best DJ in the world in 2012 by Red Bull Music Academy you can be almost positive he'll also trail into a DJ set of some ridiculous caliber, serving up a combo meal of a performance.

Tonight's event is also a FREE SHOW. The only drawback will be that you won't have the slightest idea of what you'll be missing if you're not there. See everyone tonight on the carpet at The Slap.

Amtrac :: DJ Set at His & Hers at The Garret Sat (7/20)

Kentucky producer Amtrac that we have covered on OTR several times (check some of those here), is gonna be in Miami next Saturday (7/20) where he will be doing a DJ Set at our weekly party with PopLife, His & Hers at The Garret, upstairs at Grand Central. Excited to hear his set and see what tunes he will be throwing down!

To get you psyched for his set check out a couple new remixes he's put out for Two Door Cinema Club's "Handshake" as well as Wretch 32's "Blackout" feat Shakka. As everything I've heard from him, these are two more solid offerings from this up and comer. Check those out below.

Kitsune Club Night w/Fred Falke Sat (5/11) at His & Hers

Pretty psyched for the Kitsune Club Night party going down this Saturday, May 11th at our weekly love child event with PopLife, His & Hers at The Garret. On this night the amazing Fred Falke (one of our all time fave producers) will be manning the decks for what is sure to be an amazing night of dance floor action. Chances are you've been probably been jamming to many of his amazing tunes/remixes throughout the years without even knowing it. Miike Snow's "Animal" remix anyone?

Have not heard of disco-house producer/Dj Jacques Renault? Get on board. A product of the post-punk Washington DC scene, who now resides in Brooklyn, NY. Jacques Renault is blazing ahead of the pack in the global Nu-disco scene, while leaving a trail of top-notch remixes and productions for others to follow in his wake. Renault is also a founder/owner of On The Prowl Records, with releases out from Azari & Ill, Tensnake, Coyote and more. Lucky people of Miami, tonight he hits town and continues his seasonal residency at Bardot-Miami. Check out some great remixes of his below, as well as his Soundcloud for more mixes and originals. SLAP & TICKLE, Tues May 22nd @ Electric Pickle :: Jose De Las Casas

 

Tuesday SLAP & TICKLE is back at The Electric Pickle and as always, FREE! Jose De Las Casas will be joining Troy Kurtz, Santiago Caballero and Pirate Stereo upstairs, taking you dark and deep into the night. Last Tuesday was an amazing turnout with a great vibe, and listening to some of Jose's stuff on his SoundCloud we're certain this week will be the same. Sharkoffs :: Club Cinema LIVE Set

Driving up to Club Cinema last week was a highlight of ours. Electro-House producer/DJ Sharkoffs, a South Florida native was set to open up for Steve Aoki. Thinking we were prepared for the madness was a mistake, just after Sharkoffs took over, around 11pm pure insanity broke loose amongst 2,500 of some of the most energetic people we've ever seen on a Tuesday! Chalked full of a diverse assortment of heart-pumping tracks, his selection impressed us and kept the entire crowd in a feeding frenzy for what was coming next. Perfect for getting ready to go out, this live mix is sure to make some waves for this 19 year old. Definitely giving his all to entertain and energize, we were overwhelmed with the ride Shakoffs took us on for the hour, and did not stay for Aoki (reason: being completely content). Tonight will be Afrobeta's first DJ set in Miami, they will be accompanied by our other two most favorite people to listen to locally, Pirate Stereo and Andrew Ward. Get there early, Afrobeta hits the decks at 11pm. Oh yeah forgot to add, IT'S TOTALLY FREE!! Never a bad start to the weekend.


 
 

Off the Radar Live DJ Mixes

About 10 days ago Off the Radar was invited by WVUM (UM's excellent college radio station) to be on their show Electric Kingdom. A long running electronic/dance show currently hosted by Amber which features tons of great DJ's and tunes throughout the years (the week before us Danny Daze was on the show). Anyways I had spun there a few times, but for some reason we always had a problem recording the set. Meaning they were all one time only events, never to be heard again. Fortunately this last time we got that sucker recorded and we are pretty happy with the results. I did the first hour then our boy Andrew Ward jumped on and did the last hour. Check out the mixes below and if you like what you hear they are free to download. Feel free to repost the mixes wherever you'd like, the more the merrier. Fridays at The Vagabond :: First Fridays w/ WVUM + Krisp Starts Tonight!

Fridays at The Vagabond which is a party I am a resident DJ at is getting ready to start a monthly series with WVUM called First Fridays were they bring in a different DJ from the station every month as well as a kick ass local band. Tonight is the first one with DJ Jonas and Krisp who are one of my favorite up and coming bands from the MIA, so should be a great one! If you show up before 11 it's free and they just incorporated a new drink special $5 PB&J = (PBR + Shot of Jameson or Jager all night). Now you know I love those! It's kinda like they made it just for me ;) I'll be spinning in the Bar Room from 12-3ish. Come hang...

WMC Miami 2010!!

Our favorite local Friday Night Party at The Vagabond once again has one of the sickest line-ups for WMC this year! Love that you don't have to deal with the South Beach craziness to catch this sick line-up that includes heavy hitters like Erol Alkan, Aeroplane, Classixx, Rory Phillips, Jessica 6 'Live' and more! Just head on over to were we always go party Friday Nights, The Vag! That was easy.

Another legendary event that takes place every year is the Sunset Cruise Thursdays with Sasha and John Digweed! Last year's event was soo much fun!! I mean free booze, free food, great music and amazing people while you cruise the Miami waterway and the sun is setting. Doesn't get any better than that, trusts! LIVE WVUM Off the Radar DJ Set

Hey peeps gonna be doing a Live Off the Radar DJ Set on WVUM 90.5 this Tuesday, January 26th for the Electric Kingdom Show w/Amber from 7-9 PM EST. If you're in Miami you can hear it live on the radio on 90.5 FM, if not you can stream the show online via their website here, wherever you may be. I was actually in there about a month or 2 ago, but the set was accidentally not recorded. Hope we can get it right this time. I'll try to post the mix on OTR after I get a copy of it as well. Team Rojas + (786) Debut Wednesday

Team Rojas are Miami/NYC duo EDG4R & STRAVINSKY (aka Edgar Rojas & Erick Rojas).

Known Edgar (left) a long time, even working together on a summer party we had a couple years ago called 'The Attic' at Jazid Tuesday Nights, along with Jonathan. Great guy and great taste in music! Don't know if I've met Stravinsky before, but definitely heard his name in our scene. Spinning around town at similar venues.

Team Rojas have just released a mini mix that they'd like to share called 'Before We Meet'. A precursor to the release of an Official Mix called 'Nice to Meet You' that is getting released on Turntable Lab in July! Way to go guys!
