Peaches :: No Lube So Rude + Miami Show

Lo-fi electroclash artist Peaches is getting ready to release new album 'No Lube So Rude' on February the 20th. It's her first new album in over 10 years and seems not much has changed. She still pushes the envelope as much as she did over 20 years ago when she first hit the scene. I remember playing her classic track "Fuck the Pain Away" all those years ago and being nervous, will people like it? The answer was a resounding yes! It killed on the dance floor. We ended up bringing her down to play in Miami at the Polish American Club (there's a throwback) and I remember Iggy Pop showing up to see her perform as he was a big fan. That was pretty amazing!  

She's released three tracks from the album so far "Not In Your Mouth None of Your Business", "Fuck Your Face" and the album title track "No Lube So Rude". Check out the video for "No Lube So Rude" below. Check out more on her youtube.

Ladytron :: Paradises

Ladytron a band we've championed since the Electroclash days of the early 2000's have a new album 'Paradises' set for release March the 20th. Been digging all the tracks I've heard from it so far, especially "I See Red" which has that classic sound of theirs.

Monterrey :: Make Me Feel (New Single/Video)

Miami electronic musician Monterrey is getting ready to release a new EP Elapse. Our first taste from the EP comes in the form of lead single "Make Me Feel". A loopy electronic pop tune that paints a minimalistic landscape soaked in colorful synths. As per Monterrey "The repetition in the vocals is key to the concept which is inspired by the crescendos of being in love. It is also the inner turmoil experienced by a computer attempting to assimilate to human emotion." Take your pick, or both, it can be both. The band will be performing Live Friday, June the 15th at Tigermilk, Miami's monthly Brit-Pop/Indie party held at Las Rosas. Can't wait to check out their set!

Phèdre :: In Decay

Phèdre is a band I came across in yet another TV show. Ever since hearing "In Decay" its been on non-stop repeat. The band from Monte Carlo, Monaco has a distinctive sound. Their self-titled debut has hints of hip-hop, electroclash, indie dance, and downtempo. I suggest you check out their album. Enjoy!

Miss Kittin Returns!

Since it seems the early 2000's seems to be making a comeback lately (new Strokes album is pretty ace), it only makes sense that electroclash queen Miss Kittin who collaborated with The Hacker and Felix Da Housecat back in the day be a part of the party. Today she released a new EP Bassline featuring the tracks "Bassline", "Come into My House" and "I Don't Know How to Move" that will be featured in her upcoming double album Calling From the Stars out April 22nd.

Digging the new tracks that feature her trademark dark electronic dance sounds and sexy vocals. Forgot how much I missed hearing her voice. Hopefully some of these tracks will be making it back into the clubs these days, particularly those straying away from vocals. People still like those right?

Zowie :: My Calculator (Video)

New Zealand electro-pop artist Zowie that we posted her new single "My Calculator" previously here just made a new video for the track that you can check out below. Real colorful poppy affair. This track totally reminds me of early 2000's electroclash, even has that trademark simple hand clap. Real stylish girl. Her debut album 'Love Demolition' is out now in New Zealand. Not sure when it'll be out for the rest of us, hopefully soon.

Notic Nastic

Got sent this sweet electronic dance track "I Don't Wanna Do It Right" by new NYC/Berlin collective Notic Nastic. Funny how trends come back around every decade or so and now would be just about time for an 80's new wave/electroclash type of revival which we are seeing and was pretty big around 2001/2002. Fischerspooner anyone? When the chorus kicks in on this tune it's pretty sweet and their lead singer's got some power behind her. Can't wait to hear the rest of their album 'Fullscreen' which should be out soon. In the meantime check out the track/video for the track below and a couple remixes on their bandcamp.
