Melf :: WAVES feat Rebekka Garden

When I do posts I usually play the track over and over for inspiration while I'm writing. On soundcloud when the track ends it usually goes straight to another track. As I was doing the last post for Opal Blue this track WAVES ft Rebekka Garden by Melf was the following track. After listening to Opal Blue's track several times I got hooked on this one too! Funny how many ways there are to discover new music.

Anyways seems Melf are from Norway and my wife says this track reminds her of the style of Erykah Badu. What do you guys think? Regardless it's a neat little track which if you like they are giving away as a free download. Gotta love that! Check it out below...

Clovis Points :: Razz

One door closes and another opens, that is the case with our buddy Oscar (formerly of Crown Company) and his new band Clovis Points which features Kasey Varga on drums, Roger Del Pino of Miami electronic duo, Monterrey on bass and Oscar Sardinia on guitar and vocals. They sent over their first track "Razz" and we are digging it! It has a distinctive 90's alternative rock sound like the one's we grew up listening to. It would be great to get a resurgence of that style. Love Oscar's vocals! Can't wait to hear what else they come up with. They are a brand new band after all.

It has been quite awhile since we posted about San Diego duo's Inspired & the Sleep. Since 2012 it seems. We were happy to see their new single "In My Labyrinth Mind" sitting pretty in our inbox today. Real catchy and lovely electronic/psychedelic jam. Chicos :: Hooked (Lefti Remix)

Here at OTR we are always looking for that new jam for you, and we are pretty sure we found one in the form of this Lefti remix of Chico's track "Hooked" sitting pretty in our inbox today. It's an all NYC affair with this remixer/artist combo and they've given us a hell of an up-tempo pop dance jam, which they are also offering as a free download!? What's not to like?!

Tremends :: The Ones

Everything in music cycles, just like in fashion and most other things. At the moment guitars aren't very fashionable. There aren't too many great indie rock bands out there, but that could change quickly and almost assuredly will in the not too distant future. All it takes is one amazing guitar record creating a buzz like The Strokes did with their 2001 debut album Is This It. Then bam there will be tons of guitar bands cropping up everywhere.

That being said here are some guys ahead of the curve from our very own back yard called Tremends. They sent us their new single "The Ones" and it is excellent! It gives me a very indie rock/brit-pop feel. Like they could easily be coming from somewhere in England or Europe. Nope Miami it is, and they are awesome!

Chromatics :: In Films

Ummm, New CHROMATICS track "IN FILMS"!!! Not only is it shiny, amazing and new, but they are also offering it as a FREE DOWNLOAD?! (might be a mistake, better grab that quick).

Love these guys, still jam their 2012 album 'Kill For Love'. New album 'Dear Tommy' is out soon. Can't wait!

This new track gives me an M83 vibe. What do you guys think?

Autograf :: Dream

Our buddy Autograf who we've posted a couple great remixes from before here, sent us his latest track "Dream", which also happens to be his first original track! It is a great soulful down-tempo track that I can play over and over. Very promising start!

Crown Company :: The Black Hills

It's been a long time coming, but I finally got my hands on some new music by Miami indie duo Crown Company. I waited a long time to hear the finished product (they are buddies of mine and showed me many demos the last couple of years). They also happen to be perfectionists who won't release anything until "everything is in it's right place". Luckily the wait was totally worth it! The first track they are releasing "The Black Hills" is a moody, delicious indie pop jam. Oscar's vocals sound amazing, and all the instrumentation is on point. It clocks in a very Smiths-like 2 mins and 28 secs.

They are gonna be releasing more new material in the months to come, but for now "Black Hills" will hold us off nicely, especially since we can download it for FREE, then play it on iTunes, in the car, at parties, at work,,,

Gosteffects :: Move You

Digging this dark sounding club jam sent our way called "Move You" by up and coming NYC artist Gosteffects. This track will work perfectly at those prime time DJ hours of say 12-3 AM as you are sweating it up at your favorite dance club. Best part is he is offering the tune as a free download in exchange for a soundcloud follow. I know I didn't hesitate to do that, added this baby to my playlist real quick. I recommend you do the same.

I Still Feel It :: Perfume

Got sent this beautiful track "Perfume" by Miami artist I Still Feel It. He based the tune on one of his favorite haiku's by Mastuo Bashu.

Here's what he had to say about his inspiration. "I love the simplicity of it and how it invokes the symbiotic nature of life. The side chain effect in the song makes me visualize the motion of the butterflies wings fanning the orchid."

Astari Nite :: The Boy Who Tried

Our friends in Astari Nite released new single "The Boy Who Tried" on Christmas Day. I was supposed to post about it, but I got a little side tracked with the holidays and a trip to NY. It's a great sounding goth jam! Mychael's voice is sounding more confident than ever. They are offering the track as a pay what you like option on their bandcamp. In addition to the new single they will also be performing Live at The Kitchen Club event at The Garret on Sat, Feb 7th as part of their Release Party for their New EP Anonymous, which also happens to be where I will be DJ'ing! Modjo :: Lady (Theater of Delays Remix)

One of our long time favorites Theater of Delays sent us his latest remix for Modjo's "Lady" and it is another winner! Great disco dance jam that I can't wait to play out, especially since he is giving the track away for free if you sign up to his mailing list on his soundcloud. Not only will you get access to this track, but all of his amazing remixes and originals as well! Best get in on that.

Clanch :: Autumn (Candidat Remix)

Today has been one of the most gorgeous weather days in Miami all year! A perfect 60's and sunny all day. Days just don't get much more beautiful than today, especially when the rest of the country is freezing their butts off. Perfect weather for a nice jacket or sweater. Somehow this Candidat remix for Clanch's track "Autumn" seems like the perfect track for a day like today. Smooth, midtempo jam that just flows. You can groove to it all day as you handle your business.
