Amtrac :: Running After

Amtrac is back! He sent us his new single "Running After" which is part of a 2 track EP being released August 2nd on Kidnap Kid’s new label Birds That Fly. As always it is another exquisite release from Amtrac. A deep/dark house jam that will fit in perfectly in those late night DJ sets and get those feet moving.

Great Ghost :: Take Me 2 Your Healer

Our buddy Sean Kravit who used to reside in Miami, but now calls Brooklyn home sent us his new release as Great Ghost. It's a four track EP he's titled Take Me To Your Healer, and we are digging it! It's a great piece of flowing experimental electronic music. He has a sweet animated video for title track "Take Me To Your Healer" that you can check out below which is really colorful and fun.

Opal Blue :: Way Down

Got sent this excellent dark electronic track "Way Down" by faceless London duo Opal Blue. It is made up of reprocessed vocals and out-of-tune instruments, and it is pretty amazing! It is their first track from their upcoming debut EP She Goes Deep. If this track is any indication of what's to come, we are in for a treat!

Editors :: In Dream

Digging the new Editors album In Dream, about Dreams. Been a fan of the Editors since the early days. I was blown away by a show I saw of them here in Miami at Studio A in 00's. This new album goes from dark-slow-atmospheric stuff like "No Harm", to synthy/dancey stuff like "Life is a Fear" and "Our Love", and I'm digging it all! Lead singer Tom Smith's voice is in top form!

Oh, Be Clever :: River

Really digging this soulful tune "River" sent our way by Salt Lake City duo Oh, Be Clever. The lead singer Brittney Shield's voice is so good. Keep pressing repeat. Check out the tune below which they are giving away as a free download in exchange for a follow. Sounds like a deal to me.

Gosteffects :: Move You

Digging this dark sounding club jam sent our way called "Move You" by up and coming NYC artist Gosteffects. This track will work perfectly at those prime time DJ hours of say 12-3 AM as you are sweating it up at your favorite dance club. Best part is he is offering the tune as a free download in exchange for a soundcloud follow. I know I didn't hesitate to do that, added this baby to my playlist real quick. I recommend you do the same.

Mogwai :: Rave Tapes

Scottish experimental electronic band Mogwai are getting ready to release new album 'Rave Tapes'. It will be their 8th studio album in their 18 year career and will be released January 21st 2014 on SubPop. The first single they are releasing from the record is called "Remurdered" and I am digging the sound! I was never a huge fan of Mogwai as they were always too lo-fi for my taste, but this first track definitely has a darker edge to it than anything I've heard from them. Got me psyched to hear the rest of the record.

David Lynch & Lykke Li :: I'm Waiting Here

Famous director turned musician, David Lynch, is releasing a follow up to the very good "Crazy Clown Time" this coming July 16. It's called "The Big Dream" and though not released yet, you can sample some of the songs on iTunes here.

This single is a collaboration with Lykke Li, whose ghostly voice caresses this haunting track. It's really the type of music you'd expect Lynch to make.

Bodywork :: Tame

Don't know much about Bodywork except that they are from Leeds, UK. Got sent a super simple email from them just saying 'please take a minute to listen' and a link to their soundcloud for "Tame". I did just that and I am glad I did. Great dark moody atmospheric electronic track that they are giving away as a free download. It is from their upcoming album The Grind due later this summer. What an intro.

Francis Neve :: Calls

London artist Francis Neve's reps sent us his latest single "Calls" and I am digging it. A great indie pop track that is sure to take this up and comer up the indie ranks in no time flat. In addition to the track there's also a great Clean Death Remix that takes the track in a complete 180 degree different direction from the original. Much darker and menacing in a Matthew Dear kinda way. I'm not sure if it's officially released yet, but the email said free download, so I'm gonna go ahead and link you to the soundcloud here. Von Haze :: Mother Mountain

Brooklyn psychedelic duo Von Haze that we posted about back in 2010 here sent us their latest video for their track "Mother Mountain" and we are loving it! A dark, minimal, ominous sounding track that would fit perfectly in a horror movie, kinda like the video they did for it. Check out the goods below...

Tanlines :: All Of Me + UR1 Festival Performance

I had almost forgotten about seeing Tanlines perform in September! It must've been those boozy slushys that Holocene was serving up that night, almost two months ago. I was attending one of the many events for Musicfest NW, where the Brooklyn-based duo performed as headliners at the Portland indie music venue.

What a treat to see Tanlines in person. You never quite know what you're going to get when it's just two guys and electronic music. Could be some laptops and Abelton or it could be an elaborately awesome live show that had the entire crowd shaking for what seemed like hours - which was actually more like 30 or 40 minutes. In drunk-slushy dance mode, time kind of slows down.

The hype machine for Tanlines shows no signs of slowing down. Recently, Christina Applegate's character on NBC's new hit sitcom "Up All Night" tossed a nod their way when she proclaimed that "All Of Me was her jam!" Pretty great for a group who only just released their first full length earlier this year.

This upcoming December, they'll be performing alongside artists like Lou Reed, Animal Collective, Peter Murphy, Kanye West and more at the UR1 Festival, a brand new music bonanza in Miami, FL. I might just have to take a trip down to Florida for the holidays this year. Just don't tell my parents I'm only really coming down for the UR 1 Festival!

Being Cool Is Lonely :: Bones + Boots

Phoenix, Arizona electronic duo Being Cool is Lonely sent us their latest single "Bones + Boots" and I'm digging what I'm hearing. Dark, atmospheric electronic track complete with remixes in different styles to accomodate different palettes. Check them out below, I'm sure you'll find a version you prefer. It is a heaping helping of all around strangeness from the track itself, in all its otherworldly, abstract electronic glory, to the dark, surreal and enchanting video. What do you all think?

Elsiane :: Mechanics of Emotion

After a 5 year hiatus during which she worked with Bookashade and Cirque du Soleil Montreal trip-hop artist Elsiane is back with second album 'Mechanics of Emotion' being released earlier this month. Her reps sent along first single/video for "Underhelped" which they are giving away as a free download on her bandcamp and I'm digging the sounds. Beatrice Eli :: The Conqueror (Video)

Stockholm, Sweden artist Beatrice Eli has a new video for her excellent track "The Conqueror". Digging this track, real dark and lovely. Seems she will be releasing a new single/EP soon. Definitely an artist that sparked our interest. We will be keeping an eye out for her.

Medlazik :: Somebody That I Used to Know (Remix)

Can we ever get enough of Gotye's amazing track "Somebody That I Used to Know"? The answer is NO, especially when people are still making some amazing remixes of the track. Like this latest remix by Parisian producer Medlazik that is one of the best I've heard yet. Dark, dancey and delicious. Did I mention it's free? Yep, best grab that sucker.

A Place to Bury Strangers Return!

One of our faves Brooklyn, NYC trio A Place to Bury Strangers are back with a new album 'Worship' scheduled for release in June. The first taste of the new album is first single "You Are the One" which pretty much blew me away. Amazing dark psychedelic rock track that definitely got me excited for the new album.
